Questions on Continuous/Perpetual Grows

I'm pretty new here and have lots of questions, so I'm trying to space them out a bit (barely my second post!). My plan is to have 3 seperate cabinets for clones, veg, and flowering. My question is how couls ai get into the cycle of continuously growing to get a harvest every few weeks? My flowering cabinet is going to be between 6-8' so maybe that will give you an idea on the weeks it will take for everything. Also, when you clone, how long does it take for them to grow roots and do you then move them to a veg cabinet? I'm just not sure how the transition would be.

Any other information you need, let me know! The dimensions of the cabinets/lighting is not set in stone, I'm still in the planning phase.. Thanks :D

You can clone in your veg cabinet if you want, it usually takes 5-14 days to form roots. You could get a harvest every 7-8 weeks with a single flowering room growing a strain that takes that long to finish.

I clone in my veg room, I have 3 lights at different heights in flower. when plants go in, they go under the lowest light, then get rotated as they grow. when a spot opens up. I have another plant ready to take it's place. I put a new plant in about every week or 2. So I Always have at least 3-4 ready for harvest or hanging on the line drying, or in the processing plant(as I call it) I usually have some work, but never overwhelming.

how many square feet you working with
I will be working with 3x6x6 for flowering and 3x6x2 for cloning/veg. Most likely, but if it changes it wont be a dramatic change.

If my plan is to take cutting before my first plants flower, will there be enough time for the clones to veg? I had a suggestion to veg for 4 weeks, which seemed like I had time unaccounted for because since flowering takes 6-8 weeks, I wouldstill have to wait another 2-4 weeks while my first plants flowered. Could you shed some light on that?

I'm sorry, I'm having a little trouble understanding. So you alternate your plants between your veg and flower room? I'm assuming you keep your lights at the right spectrum for flowering.. It sounds like a really good idea, and I don't mind working a little extra for them, could you please explain?

is this your first grow? not including a plant in your windowsill perpetual growing is fun but its ALOT of work especially if you don't have a lot of experience growing

i did similar to what chuck does with a few differences ...

what he means is when you first put your girls into flower your basicly just killing time not a whole lot goes on while waiting for them to sex maybe a week or two of wasted light

during week 2-4 they will really shoot up and almost double or even triple in size so what you do then is move them under a larger light (the higher light) during week 4-6 bud production will start to kick in and slowly but surely your buds will get fatter and fatter in week 6-8 depending on the strain i prefer indica so typically its 6-8 or 9 weeks, in sativa it could take 14 weeks or more anyways back to what i was saying around week 6-8 or maybe 8-12(for sativa) *biggest light* things will almost seem to stand still to the naked eye this imo is the key moment in growing all of your efforts lead up to these few days buds will fatten up significantly trics will start to turn and will finish you can slow cook a ham all day but in the end it doesn't mean dick if put that honey glaze on and don't give it ten more mins so the sugar can caramelize

in my room i only had 2 lights
veg
week 1-2 t5s
week 2-4 1000w mh

flower
week 1-2 2x250w cfls
week 2-4 400w hps
week 6- 1000w hps i had some sativas too but i had a umbrella reflector on that 1000w so i could fit alot in my room

my only advice would be, don't bite off more then you can chew take it one step at a time good luck and stay high :bigjoint: -spex

Yes, this is my first grow, but we all start somewhere right? :) I hope my knowledge is sufficient when it really comes down to it and you can believe I will be asking questions along the grow lol. Your explanation explained some things, but I still can't wrap my mind around some. For example, why are you "wasting light" during the first two weeks? I can understand it may be while they show sex, but why not stick them under the biggest bulb from the start? Also, when you say "move", do you mean you have different cabinets/room for each stage of veg/flower?

Thanks, I know helping the new guy may be frustrating but I also hopw to "Pass it on" when my time comes :D

the wasting light statement was more of an opinion rather then a matter of fact, in all my grows iv never seen much going on in the first couple weeks of flower or until they show signs of sex the light may not be wasted but if it is whats the point of wasting electricity to run a hid if it is. sometimes it takes 2 days sometimes it takes 2 weeks i put a label of 2 weeks because thats about how often you are going to be cycling crop all my flowering was done in the very same room the 1-2 weeks was to the far left out of the footprint of the hps and the 400w was to the right so when thier time is up you just move them under their light and move the old ones out

you can have 1 light thats entirely up to you this technique is for a really high yield like 50 plants harvesting 10 at a time

check this out https://www.rollitup.org/hydroponics-aeroponics/6592-get-harvest-every-2-weeks.html this guy has this stuff down to a art form

Oh okay, so just sides of the room instead of completely seperate.. And thanks for explaining the first 2 weeks thing. I've never grown so I couldn't have made a reference to that. :o

The first link is definitely ideal but thats way too many plants for my first time and I don't have enough room.. It's still something to think about and I agree witht the art reference; imagine a pound of weed every two weeks!

I hope I'm not like the new people described in the second link xD

Thanks a bunch :)
