Humidity packs can increase humidity?
Of course they do. Humidity packs are two way. They add moisture when RH is below the humidity pack numbers, and soak up RH if the humidity is higher than the number. I dont like using them to take moisture away though, I've found they also rob away a lot of the terpenes and good smells (during cure). So, I only use then to add moisture or to maintain a constant RH for long storage.

I dry and smoke without bothering to cure. I don't get any headaches.

Was that the same night you trimmed? Did you wear gloves? I ask because if I trim without gloves I get the craziest headache, almost migraine level. But I can smoke 0 cure weed just fine, for me it doesn't matter indica or sativa
No gloves, but I left the stems long to handle and trim and hardly touched the buds at all. I sampled a small popcorn bud that fell off and landed on my fan. (fan was off, I'm using my carbon filter fan on low to move air during drying)

Why wait 4 months while the terpenes degrade to smoke the weed? I don't like old cured weed. 4 months in jars doesn't make it any better. I like my weed fresh. The reason it seems smoother is because the terpenes have degraded.
