Quick advice! search completed

I want to throw this out that I did use the search feature and couldn't find anything satisfactory. Usually in specialty forums like this that is a big deal to regular members.

Anyway. I have always wanted to grow but have never had a place for such a thing. Driving home I saw an absolutely perfect outdoor location. Unfortunately it is a public location but I am very, very confident that nobody will come near the spot. I can't really explain further for obvious reasons but it is a great location.

I live in Calgary, Alberta which has possibly the trickiest climate in the world. I am looking for a strain that can stand up to this challenge.

Obviously mid May, June, July, August is my prime window. With those kinds of temperatures what kind of a strain am I looking at? The wind is also pretty savage here and it won't have any protection against the wind, at ALL. In fact it will be exposed as possible. The wind here can get up to triple what the chart says so I'm not sure if MJ plants can withstand that.

Also I'd like to add that we sometimes get hail, and it is impossible to predict, so what are a plants chances through some hail?

All of this boils down to, which strain should I use, and what should I do to combat wind? ANY suggestions, comments, criticism, whatever will be appreciated. Everyone on here knows infinite more about this subject than me.

Thanks to anyone who read this far.

Hey man I'm from cow town to and I can tell ya our weather is a bitch here. The real problem is how cold it gets here at night in the spring and fall.I have white widow plants growing which is the exact opposite that you want when your growing here. Your gonna want a strain that flowers fast and early, look for some auto flowering strains. Our lengths of day here don't go to 14 hours of light 10 hours dark until mid August, and as you know we get frost in September. Don't worry to much about the wind I know it can get windy here from the mountains, but as long as you raise em outside they'll have strong stems. If you need any other help just message me.

Either get some auto's like lrXak47 would be my bet and would be nice and low and a decent 1-2oz harvest off quality bud. Another option guerilla gold or mighty mite should be ready end off sept. Pinch it some times to keep it low and bushy. Just get them in the ground asap!

Alright thanks for the advice. I was planning on doing this next summer since I missed the entire month of June, but do you think it's possible to start it now? ib9ub6 being a Calgarian I'd like to ask you where the best place is to get seeds from, and if you have any yourself :D

id think you could get 1 ak grow done 10-12 weeks from seed probs 3 ft plant at most. would see you into the end off sept. and -1 in october so you should be finished by then anyway. but you would have to plant within a week or so tops. im in the uk so have no trouble withn seeds ive bought from dr chronics (not the cheapest or the most expensive) but excellent customer service and lads in tthe usa seem to get plenty off him.

yeah your best bet is an autoflowerer. A strain i read about called early wonder skunk sounds like it would suit your growing season pretty good.

Thanks guys I'll look into all those strains. ONE more question, the place I'm going to plant in is frequented by wild bunnies and deer. Any idea if either of those eat marijuana plants? OK two more questions, the location is also on a slope. It can't be leveled so is this a problem? Thanks again to all of you who helped.

deer and bunnys are a big problem most outdoor growers use chicken wire/mesh to solve this. as for the slopes long as ur soil is good i cant see any issues
