Quick cloning question.. Would like to flower

So I need to take cuttings before placing my plant in my flower room...

My question is... Should I take the cuttings then wait a few days before putting the plant I currently have into flower?

Or is it alright to take my cuttings today and then start flowering the mature plant a day later?

I dont know, but i suspect throwing here right into 12/12 shouldnt hurt, since it takes about a week for the girl to realize its time to flower. He recoup period would be the same week she is recognizing its time to crank out hormones for budding.

But... if youre not in a hurry, there is zero risk in letting her recoup in veg for a bit...

if you are taking cuttings to flower them to define sex, you need to do that 2-3 weeks ago, if you are taking cutting to increase volume, take them now, take them lower down, give the plant a flush (3x times the volume of the pot, with air temp water) then take the cuttings in the morn, and mount to a rooter plug or diy bubble cloner, then start your mom on 12x12, ensure you have a enough space in your veg hanger?

I have plenty of space... That won't be an issue... This is just to add a few more of the cherry og's to my collection... This way I will have something vegging while the big one is flowering. Also waiting on Humboldt Sour Blueberry seeds to get here... This is just to fulfill my continuous growing addiction lol

There's no reason you can't take cut and then immediately put it into flower. Personally I'd give it a day or two just for the shoots below where you took clones to grow out a little, just to get some more size on them. IDK your setup but mine will grow 1/2"-1" in a little over a day after cutting.

Mines very similar in growth rate. I have this one plant under a Blue Enhanced 400w MH... Temps are 74f... Humidity is 38%.... Growth is healthy with very little to no signs of deficiencies... It's in a great environment.

I took my cuttings yesterday afternoon, cut at a 45, shaved some skin off the stem, dipped stem in water for 10-15 seconds then in the rooting gel for 10-15 seconds then into a coco plug pre-soaked in cloning solution and worm tea. The clones drooped about 30 minutes later but when I awoke this morning I glanced over at my humidity dome which is under florescent lights and on top of a seedling heating mat and the cuttings were sticking straight up! Happy to see that. I immediately checked on the bigger cherry og and it was completely fine. No signs of distress what so ever! So I think once my coco medium looks like it needs it's next feed, that is when I will put into flowering and start off with flowering nutrients.

I recommend waiting 1 week before going to flower. You can clone after flower phase started, the clones taken will produce plants that are a little more shrub like usually. Experiment with a few. Best way to learn and maybe come up with a better way of growing. You can never get better if you don't risk a little. Every strain is different.

And this is my second grow with the cherry og... I was not apart of this site when I grew it therefore have nothing to show on it... But it had a very sour cherry diesel taste... Very delicious and I loved it. Got it from a pick and mix selection a while back and had one seed left over. Had to clone it since even though I loved the taste and overall look of the cherry, and the fact I wanted more... Didn't trump the fact I like variety in my life so I'm waiting on my Humboldt Sour Blueberry seeds to come in so I can germ those next!

Thanks man... A little risk taken here... Not much but some. I'm happy to see everything is looking healthy. The less stress the better. I will most definitely take a couple more cuttings once I'm in week one or two of flower. My question is now... Should I give the plant the bloom nutrients now before even putting them into flowering? Would that help production of growth in any way?

And I don't mean right now, I mean for it's next feeding? Even if I decide to wait another feeding to put it into my flower room...

I've been cutting clones the day flowering begins for 10 years with no problems but I don't butcher the plants. Foliage and roots try to keep a balance. When you whack off too much foliage the roots are still trying to feed the cut parts thinking there still should be plant material to feed stunting growth. But if you don't butcher it they won't be stunted and flowering will start without a hitch. I never remove more than 10-15% of foliage at any one time.

Good thing for me that I only took 2 cuttings which is only about 5% of my plant. Def not a butch job Hahaha. Thank you for that... Def makes me feel better and more confident about it
