Quick germination question

So I just dropped 3x Ethos: Mac N Jack and 3x Beleaf: Truffle Knockout seeds in shot glasses of water. They all floated except two of the Mac n Jack seeds sunk to the bottom when I dropped them in, after a couple minutes one of them floated back up, but the other is still on the bottom. Should I leave it be? Or should I take it out and put it between moist cotton pads already?

After a couple of minutes? How would that possibly be ready?

And I'd recommend going straight from soaking in water overnight to the actual pot. No need for another step in there. Handling a germinating seed will never have any benefits, but can certainly have negatives.

Hey thanks for the reply. I don’t think it’s ready, i just wasn’t sure why it sank immediately, possibly it’s slightly cracked? I usually would just plant straight into soil after soaking. I was going to do a 12-18 hour soak and put them between cotton pads until tails have popped out. Saw this guys method and decided to try it out

Ah okay cool. Well I dont actually soak seeds myself so I cant say. I go straight into a moist peat pellets and then into a dome. Everything in that dome will equalize (moisture wise) including the seed so I've never seen the need to soak. Its just an extra step if you ask me. Two extra steps if you go to paper towles or cotton pads. If there's one thing the cannabis community is know for (according to me), it is overcomplicating everything. KISS, I say.

Love that KISS. I usually do living soil too and decided not to this round because i have brand new gallons of the GH flora trio I haven’t used yet. Lol seems I’m complicating things more for me this round

Yes I am water germing, 1/6 of the seeds sunk as soon as I put it in water. I was wondering what I should do. Maybe it’s cracked ? Not sure why it sank right away
Fresh seed. Some are instant. A big to do about surface tension, texture and hardness of water. LOL. It should be good. Most sink in minutes here. Some I poke with tooth picks for days.

Haha right on, so you think I should leave it on the bottom while the others are soaking ? Or should i just plant it now ? Hoping the seeds good !

I thought you were water germinating? Not dipping seeds. Leave until tail pops. Then plant. No damage to roots.

I’ve actually never water germinated, I usually drop a seed right into my medium and put a dome on top. I was afraid the seeds could drown leaving them soaking. I saw this guys video and was going to try this method
They don't. LOL. Whatever works for you.
And vid is age restricted. I'm too old I suppose. Best wishes.
