Quick harvesting questions...

I read somewhere that you're suppose to give mj total darkness for the last couple days right before harvest. Is three days enough/good? What does this period of darkness do for the bud?

I also read that when using soil (like I am), to not water them the last three days or so before harvest to help with drying. Is this correct too?

That's all the newb questions I have right now. Thanks RUI. :peace:

The way I understand it is by giving them the dark period it is said the plants kind of give it everything they got to reach light. At the same time they shoot it to the trichomes because there is no seed.

I have done it but for 24 hrs I noticed slightly more amber trichs.

Same deal with the water, they use up more of the stored nutrients and you get a cleaner smoke.

When you shut off the lights like that, the plant thinks it's dying and produces more thc i think.

thats the only reason im not budding the plant all season with the trashbag.but it could handle a couple hours under late evening october sun just until its dark and i can remove it

Trash bag isn't the best idea...will trap moisture and cause mold.

Don't want mold on your precious buds.
