Quick question please reply

Hi is there a way to determine the sex of a plant in early stages? My plant has little small hairs growing it's only about 6inches in hight I think it's female but I'm not really sure. I don't have a pic yet but will do soon. It has like two little hairs grow from the joints on the stem I'm not sure what it could be
