how fast should the water come out of a drip system i recently switched from aeroponics to just a simple drip system 4 site pvc im using the same pump from the other system but the water pours out very fast is that bad for my plants i also drilled holes threw the end caps and put air tubes with a bunch of holes threw it some one said i should always have it running

You are correct It should only come out fast enough to keep the medium wet not splash up on the plants!

so u think the pump is to strong it doesnt splash on the plant it just pours out real fast i put the little spike all the way in so it sticks out the buttom of the rock wool
but it is spouse to drip slightly is it not?

It's called a "Drip" system for a reason.

You don't want it to splash out, or gush out, or anything other than DRIP out.

Slow and steady, moist but not saturated, air + water = good

by drip emitters the have different flow rates but you dont have a drip system right now you have a top feed wich is fine to the excess will runn off and as long as your pump dont run to long each watering you will be good even try going away from rock wool and just use hydrotron clay

If you have a strong pump then try to find a way of reducing the flow...

Pinch the tubes so that they don't gush out or find a splitter to redirect half the flow into your basin.

Think of it kinda like a garden hose, when you bend it on itself then it has less pressure.

i cant switch it right now there already in rock wool and no rooom for anything else i have it in a big cube from the aeroponic system i have just been putting the pump on 20 sec at a time by hand every few hours or so

There you go, you can get a timer at Home Depot/ Lowes for less than $20 to serve your purpose.

You don't want to continually do it by hand, it becomes SUCH a BITCH!!!

o i do have a timmer i jsut dont want it to go on to much how long should i put it on every hour ? for a couple mins ?

k i put 3 boby pins in diffrent areas of the tube and it is coming out much much slower not driping but it kinda just drizzling out im thinking all put the pump on of 2 mins every hour i can have up to 12 setting on my timmer
