You can as long as the light cycles are 12-12 unless you got an autoflower, which would be more suitable for this situation.

well what if i just put a box over them for 12 hrs?
Trying to figure this one out. If I understand your question correctly, YES, you can grow your plant in the sunshine coming through a window. Now that said, the quality and quantity of production will depend on the amount of sunlight each 24 hour period. The "box" thing would work as long as you don't smother your plant. Or just make sure that the room with the plant is dark for 12 hours every day.
Good luck & good grow.......BB

im gonna flower after just 4 wks to keep them small. the window is huge and i usually get sunlight from it for as long as the sun is up and its not a problem to shift them around throughout the day to get the most light. when the temps go over 80 i just been closing the window to keep them in the AC. i can get a big box to cover them with and check it during the day to make sure no light shines through. this is gonna be an experimental grow because i keep tryin to jump right into grows and i spend alot of money and lose my patience. this time around im gonna try to keep things simpe and be more patient. my plants always seem healthiest in sunlight. ive tried using cfl's several times but i think i keep runnin into problems with intake and exhaust and thats why i keep killing them. thanx for the good luck cuz ill need it.

i did that once but i grew for a full season, planted in april harvested in october. flowering on a sill is a wicked bitch if you use that room because you need to turn on the lights at night and rigging a schedule is a real pain in the ass. i just let the sun do its thing and it was still a pain in the ass. you're talking about babysitting the whole light cycle with covering the plant. that will require quite a bit of dedication and sounds like a pain in the ass for not a whole lot of bud off a small plant flowering under spring or early summer sun.

The problem with "Window Growing" is that the Sun moves from one side, all the way to the other! In the morning you only get direct sunlight through East facing windows. From late morning to mid-afternoon you only get direct sunlight through South facing windows. Then, in the later part of the day you only get direct sunlight through your West facing windows.

Unless you're home all day (with nothing better to do), you'll be busier than a one legged man in an ass kicking contest!

well sad to say but yes i do sit at home all day with nothing better to do. well i got 2 kids but still it dont put me on my feet all day. i would say i have an inability to tolerate boredom. i dont work because of social anxiety disorder which is actually a piece of the reason why i get high all the time. its not as great as it sounds. actually it pisses me off when ppl think i have it easy. i got alot of mental issues that i put up with 24/7 that very few other ppl have to deal with so i would say i put in my fair share of work. oh and im startin to figure out how the sun moves around during the day. it starts at the top of the roof in the morning then works its way down the window till late afternoon when it starts moving back towards the top of the roof on the other side of my living room. its only been a few days i been watching it but im catchin on.

Why not just grow outside? lol, ive seen 1 decent window plant in my life, if you've got lots of time im sure you could probally do decent, but outside you'd do great. Mental illness isnt easy or fun, I've got your back on that, hang in their though and eventually things will work out for you, I've got more than my share of it too. My whole family does actually, dont let them hold you down with their pills either, some do help but If i would of stayed on the pills they kept trying to force on me i'd be living in a halfway house not knowing where i was half the time. marijuana is a much better medicine.

How tall should the plants be before transplanting them into a bigger pot? or is there no specified height, it is whenever they start to topple over?

they should never topple over, they should always be able to hold up itself, unless its a monster outdoors plant.. when you should transplant depends on the size of the container its originally in.

hey, if you leave it in one window, all day without moving around the house(unnecessary stress) it will recive less than 12 hours of light. once the plant is sexually mature it will flower, whether it gets 12 hours of light or 8

im growing on the windowsill in the morning and under a cfl until dark then back to the windowsill until the sun rises again

my plant is being transplanted into a 5g bucket way up in a tree in the middle of nowhere once i know the weather is nice for good(no more frost)

kaleo, normally i agree with you, but thats not gonna start it flowering, it might not get direct light but it will still get light all day long........
