Quick Question

Alright well I just finished my bubbleponic system ;) i used a rubbermaid container that is black but it is like a black tint type color so light can come through it is just less powerful... I thought for some appearent reason this is bad b.c light wasnt supposed to get into your res. because it either helped in algae growth and/or light wasnt suppoed to be exposed to your roots?

I was under the influence that if it was a bubbleponics system that aglae wouldnt be a huge problem and that it doesnt grow very successfully b.c of the water movement.

And i just couldnt seem to think of a reason why light would harm your roots...

Any replys are extremely appreciated...

why dont you just cover it with milar or the black out stuff or the white i aint sure as never needed it but isnt it white one side and black the other that would do nicely for what you want

Buy a team water jug or an insulated cooler / ice chest use 3-4" attic board (insulated board) you can cut holes and place net cups in there and use those as your lids, keeps my ladies reservoirs in check

Because I'm big on clean professional looking and operating grow opts... Ha I don't want my ladies in a crack house... az30 and tin foil/black out/etc = unprofessional and ugly/dirty look

I guarantee if you go with the 5 gallon sport coolers like Weedler and I you wont have any temperature problems in your res. Mine dont even move for a good 7 days even in the summer. The only time I ever use frozen water bottles is when I'm doing a res change!

blackout/aluminum foil on the res doesn't have to look bad. To me functionality is more important than appearance, but if you have the money to spend then I see your point.

For what it's worth, beneficial microbes will help keep algae away and let you easily get away with res temps in the mid 70's. Still wanna block the light from the water though.

Using that setup he is able to really control temps. Using insulated water jugs like BH & I do they work a lot better than rubbermaid or any non insulated 5GA bucket

I've tried the black out around my old dwc blue tubs.... looked very bad and there was still places for the light to get in. I will be tryin out the water cooler idea in the summer as its not easy to control the water temps in my setup.
