How far should i be hanging my 2 x 90W LED ufo's for my veg room?

About 18" above canopy.

18" seems way high to me. I've been using led ufo for some grows and according to the manufacturer for its about 6-8 inches. Unless you bought a knock off brand the manufacturer should have that info.

The back of your hand is about as heat-sensitive as our plants. Turn the light on, let it heat up, then place your hand under the light. Move your hand towards light until the heat is uncomfortable. That's as close as you want your gals. Remember - the closer to the light the tighter the nugs.

I know with my ufo's which are Apollo if I get the ladies much closer than 6in I start getting some light burn. My ufos are not even hot when touching the glass cover for the light panel. They have some good fans build in the sides and backside.

With LEDs you cant use the heat method. I put my 300 w LEDs about 25 inches away from my plants cause when they were at 20 inches from the canopy the leaves were crisping up and burning. Just do a little testing and see what a safe height it. If you see any burn bring it up more. For the 90watt I would say no less than 15 inches away. Good Luck

I still go back to refer to what the manufacturer says for your light. They would or should know best.

Thanks for all the info everyone, much appreciated! but by no means am i a newby to growing im just new to this LED stuff I'll try 8'' and gradually move to about 1 foot away and see if my girls respond.
they seem to be stretching right now and thats not good because their an autoflowering variety.
Strains are Early Miss (white widow +Big Bud) and Jack Herer autoflowering (original jack + ruderalis)
i'll give you guys some pics when i get a chance since i got so many replies! happy growing
