Look how much wax precipitated in just a few hours. It's a medium size jam bottle. Extracted about 50 g of shake with 99% iso. Took a 500 ml bottle in total. I gave it just mild heating in the microwave to soften up the trich wax membrane, which melts at about 65 C. Then it's easier to squeeze out the res.
I just put the shake in a 500 ml glass measuring cup, add enough iso to cover it, heat in the microwave for 30 seconds or so and press it into the bottom of the cup with a glass bottle a little smaller than the cup. I mostly roll the bottle around to cause the iso to flow through the shake in a circular path. Occassionaly I'll press straight down. I do that for like 30 seconds or until I feel it's been scrubbed nicely. I hold the bottle in there and tilt the cup up to pour the iso off into a second cup. The bottle holds the shake-cake in while the iso pours off. A couple bits of shake fall in but I strain it later. I have to hold the cup tilted until it stops dripping much, which can be a few minutes. Then two more rinses with minimal iso and I'm done.
I sit the cup and bottle aside in a plastic bag closed not very tightly, so the remaining iso gradually evaporates over a week or so without causing too much stink. Since the bottle is sitting in the cup, only a thin ring of shake around the bottle is exposed to air so any remaining resin collects there as the iso evaporates and carries it to the surface. I pick out the resin-rich parts and smoke it when I'm desperate. Pretty good actually. The rest of the cake under that ring and bottle is completely pale and absent of noticeable cannabinoids. It looks like nice gold weed, but completely inert.

I made a couple batches of nug run Qwiso over the weekend..... Before I had only done trim. Holy shit!
What a difference.
After I had my first half gram (7 g of good quality popcorn nugs, 30 sec wash) I decided to try it. I did MAYBE a .1 dab on my ceramic nail... Pretty smooth. Taste was good, not great but definitely good....
20 minutes later my wife gets home and I realize I'm RIPPED! She was making fun of me and I had no comeback. Just a perma-smile and incredible dry mouth.
Super nice high, all in the head and no bad feelings associated.
I have no idea what nug I used, but most everything in that bin was indica dominant so I am surprised it didn't just knock me out....
Next step: scrape up the other batch. Then, I'll do a second wash on both batches.
I plan to mix it with waxliquidizer and see what happens on my RDA!

How do you folks decarb?
Do you decard before the iso-alcohol wash or do you decarb the stuff after the alcohol has evaporated?
Ideally I would like to extract the THC-A while the buds are still green (cut down and extract)
to prevent anything happening during the drying period.
Would it be possible to
1. Extract THC-A from green material
2. Put the THC-A powder/tar into coconut oil
3. Heat the coconut oil in my Instant-Pot to decarb the THC to THC-A
