I'm a liberal and believe in the rule of constitutions and law, when you have power, you can make the law, as long as it conforms to the constitution. I believe a lot more can be done within the existing framework of the US constitution to protect it in a rapidly changing world and make a more perfect union. Globalization and the internet means Russians are interfering in your elections and Canadians like me are in your face. The difference is I'm open and honest about it, I'm a Canadian liberal, just like every patriotic American who believes in, upholds and protects the constitution. Liberal means liberty under the constitution and the rule of law, it's not about economic ideology, but about freedom and what it means. Liberalism leads to responsible government and eventually equality for all under the law, some Americans have dropped liberal democracy for fascism because of this.
