Went and bought 2 more carports today. I got 1 that has the full enclosure, it's a little better built than the the other ones. I got 1 each. I also bought a roll of clear plastic, several tarps, bungees, clips, and concrete anchors!! I'm ready!!
I figure the fully enclosed one could be used to hang stuff in a little later too.

im in tha central valley,im gonna cover them up they need a couple weeks still.people got massive farms out here it could be a wash for them!try to cover 3000 15 footers

i usually push mine to the very end. i'm pulling everything earlier this year and loving it. it's not as beat up by the months and the rain. it's all nice firm clean nuggets of sweet smelling goodness. the trichs are all cloudy and just turning amber. hairs are about 60% brown. samples are tasty and stoney. :eyesmoke:

I just may pull next few days myself except for a few that are far from ready. Others have no amber but are cloudy and frosty as fuck. They can hardly support the weight of the buds as is. I'd rather give them another week or 2, but nature calls

Hmmm... I was going to cut the big colas off this gurl this weekend. Her buds are phat and showing some amber. I am curious if this is a good time to try the 2-3 days total darkness I am reading about on here as a finish. Any thoughts? Anyone actually try this to some success? I got some great tarps I can hang over her and make it dark n kozy :) At the minimum I keep the smaller buds dry to finish.. but I miss out on my free weekend time to do the deed. Hmmm decisions decisions..

ps.. sativas are so much easier to trim.. just saying .. haha

Rain can mold up yes. Water soaks into the bud and cant get out.
Blue dream appears immune to this.
As a new grower, have stated in another thread Blue Dream is bulletproof! What an amazing strain. Wonderful pain relief, energy boost, and very kind to a novice grower.

That looks so nice. What strain is it?

Sorry to say.. I dont know. I got three differnt clones given to me from an established mountain grower/hippie from the hills mid July. All did well. I asked recently and he dont remember what he gave me and he is not local to see it, nor computer savy. Its a sativa dom for sure. It has a pungent pine/citris smell to her? hard to identify but nice. Very frosty and big top colas and the understory buds are gunna make golf balls sized nugs. I was thinking of trying to reveg n clone it might be too big.. and its in the ground ugghhh..

That's what they used to teach us in school............Cut and cover.............no wait was that duck and cover....oh well, I think you're on the right track. Just keep takin what looks most important to save and string it out. Nothing sayin you have to do all or nothing Right?

that's right. I got my blocks today, to hold the carport down if the winds pick-up soon. With the cover on, it's a kite! Tomorrow morning the wife and I will set-up the other carport, and throw the covers up on the 2 that are up. Then I'll go down to the other place, and cover 4 of those 6 with tarps I bought. 2 of em' will not be as sturdy, so I'll cover those 2 with plasic. Looks like the rain is supposed to come in Monday afternoon, so that gives us Monday morning too. Good luck everybody!

If you cover in plastic, I see it steaming up and sweeting. Will that make mold? I mean its going to rain for 3 days and its covered and the bottom has wind holes but its steaming where bud hits plastic.

You don't want the plastic touching the buds, that will cause mold. If you fix that and have decent air circulation going thru you should be ok

That's why I trimmed my plants off till they fit under the frame. Now I can cover without touching much. I'm gonna be using white tarps not plastic, which will be better but I still don't want it touching any more than it has to.

not covering here... only getting .20 inches max.... and the plastic ends up doing more damage to the buds than the rain will, so I say fuck it unless you're getting more than I am.
