Rain water

Ive collected about 5 gallons of rain water 2 months ago. I went to go use some today and noticed a small amount of green stuff floating in it, like algae. Is it still safe to use this water?

More than likely. I fee like worst case is you get some moss looking algae on the top of your soil. If do hydro i wouldnt use it because it could clog your pumps or hoses or sprayers or air stones.

Maybe run it through a coffee filter to make sure you dont get any large clumps in first?

Thanks for the replies, I did a bit more research before feeding any plants with the water. Many, if not all people said it was good to use, and may even be beneficial.
By the way the containers were sealed and not in direct sunlight.
