raising soil ph

im in desperate need to raise my soil ph. i found out that my runoff is at a ph of 5.3 the other day and ive been watering with ph 6.5 -7.0 water. im in the 4th week of flowering and i found the leaves turning lighter green and have little brown dots on a few of them. im 99% sure this is because of lockout due to my soil ph being so low. so please anyone that could help me raise the ph ASAP i would greatly appreciate it. Also, how can i prevent this from happening on my next grow? i thought watering with the correct ph water would prevent that but i was wrong. thank you!

dolomite lime. Also what kind of ph tester were you using? I never tend to trust run off as a testing method.

Dolomite Lime or Crushed Oyster Shell, the latter is available as chicken food supplement at most bulk feed stores.

1 cup per cubic foot of dirt (7 gallons)

I have read that oyster shells don't last as long as lime does.. I know ffof uses oyster shells but if when I use it I still add lime

thats friggin messed up because last week they were TOO green and people were telling me i had too much nitrogen so ive been watering with plain water for a week. going back to feeding tomorrow as it is watering day and ill see if it helps. as far as the lime goes im pretty sure its too late in my grow for that?? but i will be adding it to my soil next run.

always use lime, and unless your plants are DARK green then they are usually healthy as hell.. Don't believe everything you read on here, kinda have to pick and choose what advice to listen too. I'm only giving my advice because I have experienced this before. I try not to give advice on stuff I know nothing about. Good luck dude

whats up guys i was reading ur thread and i also seem to have a low ph problem and i also water with a neutral ph water....from what ive read u can also use bone meal but i'm not quite sure if that'll help, bought a bag but am afraid to use it.......my plants were in small pots i think 1liter or so, so today i went and bought some canna terra professional soil and transplanted half of my grow to see if it helps..........i really wish it could..........
i also bought the ph testing strips, so now that i tested the water with just rhizotonic in it it makes the ph go up to about 8, but my soil was 5.5 so i dont know if it'll compensate for that...........i'll be following this thread too if you guys dont mind caause i dont want to see my babies go to waste.....

I always repot with new soil if it goes tits up.....

instead of fighting, start at square 1.
even if in flower...
throwing stuff at it usually makes it worse.

so i did a good thing by repotting???...i guess..............other thing is i tested the soil before repotting and it had a pH of 7.0 after i repotted and watered with rhizotonic at half strength the soil's pH went to 5.5 too.............brand new soil, or is the ph fucked up when the soil is wet??...

I've always found that a good thing..

I 1st try a .2 ph change...see if that helps....
then flush... look..

then instead of the which/what def debate I just repot...
and the def debate although good to consider may be 100% wrong from 1 plant to the next...

everyone has hadd a grow where 1 strain loves it all..
the other is all ratty looking..?????

especially when learning I think lessin 1 should be
don't start throwintg shit at it..
and in babaies...
stop watering...!!!

learners love to drown babies...lol

Get some lime, apply the lime and quit chasing pH. Chasing pH is a VERY effective way of fucking up your plants.

Bone meal is good. You just need to apply it ~2 months before it's needed. Takes that long to break down, more or less.
