Last night, I viewed The Big Short. Fun, fast paced movie with great performances by this all-star cast. It did a great job of explaining just how this recession occurred that was easy for us layman to understand, and how the banks are starting their same risky behavior again just a few years later. Bale was just genius, and Carell was amazing. Totally recommend, great screener torrents for this one, I give it an 8...

I just saw The Hateful Eight. I really enjoyed it, especially Leigh's character. Sam Jackson was outstanding as usual, and Russell was hilarious. I like Goggins, and he was even better than I thought he would be in this. I am probably biased as I love Tarantino's fun style and witty dialogue. I'd give a 7 overall, worth it if you dig Quentin...
I dont think most people can hang with QT's dialog I loved Death Proof which most people hate and am very much looking forward to the h8ful 8...

Foxcatcher (2014)

"When wealthy John du Pont (Steve Carell) invites Olympic wrestler Mark Schultz (Channing Tatum) to move to his estate and help form a wrestling team for the 1988 Olympics, Mark sees a way to step out of the shadow of his charismatic brother, Dave (Mark Ruffalo). However, du Pont begins to lead Mark down a dark road, causing the athlete's self-esteem to slip. Meanwhile, du Pont becomes fixated on bringing Dave into the fold, eventually propelling all three toward an unforeseen tragedy."

Solid movie, 8/10
Pro: Great acting, good writing and dialogue, interesting story
Con: A little slow paced

Captain Phillips (2013)

"In April 2009, the U.S. container ship Maersk Alabama sails toward its destination on a day that seems like any other. Suddenly, Somali pirates race toward the vessel, climb aboard and take everyone hostage. The captain of the ship, Richard Phillips (Tom Hanks), looks to protect his crew from the hostile invaders, and their leader, Muse (Barkhad Abdi). The pirates are after millions of dollars, and Phillips must use his wits to make sure everyone survives and returns home safely."

Good movie, 7/10
Pro: Good acting, well done, powerful scenes, cool story
Con: A little repetitive and maybe a bit too long
Just watched Hateful Eight. I give it 8/10. A good mix of suspense and action. Good actors and a great western setting. I would give it a 9/10 but Samuel Jackson forces another man to give him head and I wouldn't do that to my worst enemy.

Just watched Scarlet Johanson again in LUCY. She rocks in anything she does.
The film was a little silly but so what. Then I saw another Johanson film called UNDER THE SKIN...trippy and dreamy. But once again Johanson was great.

She's a walking dessert. I liked her in Match Point, and she was outstanding in Her (even though we don't even get to see her in this one). She's got that sexy voice on top of the physical beauty, flinty and smoky. I turned myself on, I'm gonna go google her and rub one out...

Oh damn, her performence was outstanding in "Her".
Good movie by the way a nice 8/10, I absolutely loved it.
An interesting and completely new idea about the plot, I also loved the whole aspect with humans losing their ability to socialise and have a conversation face to face because of the advancement of technology. It's starting to become a real problem these days so the movie is a nice "wake up call" and realistically portrays society in a few years up.

I just finished The Martian. I really enjoyed it, Damon was outstanding. It was exhilarating to see a human conquer so many challenges to survive, and Damon's character was a wonderful blend tenacity, optimism, and wit. I love how the rescue brought the entire world together, it's nice to see that triumph can do that as well as tragedy. It wasn't castaway, but it was a good film. 7.5/10

True that, although I was a little bit dissapointed that they didn't really delve into the psychological problems that could accompany a human who is literally the only living being on a planet. It would of been interesting to see him go insane (which is a pretty likely response). But it was a great movie and the humour was was well fit. The "space pirate" part was funny.

The Hateful Eight was good, I'd give it 8/10. Good dialogue, cool story, great acting, cool characters. I think casting Channing Tatum was kind of a strange choice for that part. I also liked the exaggerated amounts of blood, that was a good touch.

The Big Short was also pretty good, 7/10

What was everyone's favorite movie of 2015?

I'd give it to The Martian
