Only in my cloner if they're getting too tangled. I do notice that they get bulkier after I do it. First time I've ever seen it written down though.
Seems counter productive... nothing I’ll be trying first run

Root pruning if done properly boost growth and creates a sturdier plant. Ive also saved near death plants that had diseased roots and sickly growth by rinsing away the coco adhering to roots, trimming off most of them, repotting in fresh coco; ended up with healthy white roots and good flower from that plant. Probably not for beginners
