RDWC root rot HELP!

To tell you the truth I dunno.
I was having pearly white roots and then added hygrozyme to my lineup and my roots then looked just like yours.
You're in good company. NEVER run Hygrozyme in RDWC.

Beneficial bacteria/compost teas work fine but keep in mind that without someplace in the system for them to live, they'll only be alive for a couple of days. Soooo, you need to keep reinoculating if you go this route.

Is there issues with using enzymes and beneficial microbes??
Run your water constantly. If you have an issue with different water levels in your grow sites, run a SMALLER pump.

Be sure your water is 68 or cooler. What really kills pathogens is dissolved oxygen in the water, which is best supported by colder water temps, even as low as sixty F.

Don't run your airpump on a cycle timer, either- although it's doing a different job than you think it is; it's not oxygenating the water as much as it's splashing water above the waterline so the roots dangling above the water get wet and can keep the plant alive.

I redesigned my RDWC system to work without needing an airpump at all, and it's a huge improvement.

Did I say that Undercurrents suck?

Right there with you bro im down for the insight. Thank you. I didnt mean to ha e the air pump om a timer just the water pump
Don't put either one on a timer. If you have water level issues, run a smaller pump size. How do you keep the water cool? If you're like most of us, you have a chiller and that runs in your 'epicenter'. If you shut down the circulation pump, how is it going to keep the water cold in the rest of the system?

My water temps are not an issue. 68-72 degrees. Pump is just to circulate water to keep ph and ppms even throughout.

If it were me. I would take those plants and make Hempy buckets and just drop the net pots in it and go Hempy bucket. Of course be careful transplanting and try to spread the roots and fill in the perlite medium to save as much of the healthy as possible.
This is great advice. Dwc sucks!!!!! What a relief it will be when people retire these complex unstable systems.
