Re use soil

Yeah, that’s what I thought. When it was legalized here a bunch of dumbasses got busted for selling $300 ziplock bags, with a “Free Zip!” on Craigslist. They literally openly advertised it!
Well, that's no different than wearing an orange construction outfit and jumping up and down on the street corner screaming "Gift weed here, only $300!!!" LOL

Understood. I'm not against re-using soil, I just don't re-use it indoors. It costs me ~$35 for three months worth of soil.
The shop down the street has FFOF for $12.90 for 1.5 cf bags. They have Happy Frog for $14 for 2 cf bags. Soil prices have come down with all the competition. Even Miracle-Gro has a decent organic soil made with mostly the same ingredients found in the more cannabis specific brands. Legalization means more people grow, more product and brands making suppliers and manufacturers lower their prices to compete. The days of the shysters bending people over the wheelbarrow are coming to an end. The premium prices many charge for these so called cannabis specific products is coming to an end.

Lmao that's great, nah man if it's a good friend just do the swap. I spent my whole tax return on this grow set up because the guy who had a tent and lights for me backed out. Was going to do the same thing essentially.
Man, how I miss the days when I used to get tax returns! I dread tax season. I usually have to pay a minimum of $3k every year.

$35 (CDN) for 3.8cf bale of Sunshine Mix #4 is what I use, so the cost compared to what you mentioned is relatively equivalent. Good to know.

For quite a few years I was using Promix, and if I remember correctly, it was about the same cost.

A bale lasts me between 2-3 months.

Well its def dark enough for the night vision on the camera . The open vent is on the left side and I cant even see any light so I think I'm good . Glad I found the hermi when I did . I planned for at least 1 of the 4 plants to be male anyways so losing one isnt a biggie to me

That's not bad. I originally spent about $150 to fill 9 10 gal pots. I spent a bunch more for the no-till shit I needed to add. Now after adding that stuff I have 13 15 gal pots full. They're starting to take over my basement, lol. Never mind the yellow sticky traps. I had a few fungus gnats in the first round of plain FFOF, until my predators took care of them. I haven't seen one in over a year now. I like to leave them in there to keep new shit out.

I've been meaning for years to try the rebuilding of soil with amendments and such. Perhaps it's time I act on it.

I just literally mix it in with other soil meant for outside use.

The one time I did re-use soil for an indoor grow years ago, I got an aphid infestation. I've never had one before or since, so that's my hesitation. On a harvest 3/4lb every five week perpetual, bugs would throw a huge wrench into the process ;)
I had a similar experience...I use super soil and decided to try and re-amend it. I wound up with powdery mildew and I suspect the soil was the problem. Like you I use to always use it for vegy's or outdoor plants, and for the little it costs I am going back to fresh soil every time. Powdery mildews was a HUGE "wrench in the process"....I had to start from scratch again!

I'm growing more veggies this year too, if my seeds show up! They might wind up being worth more than gold if things go bad! And the less time in a grocery store the better!!

Yeah with my gorilla tent, I have to leave the flap in the back open or the tent walls suck in . When its lights out I shut the light off in my room as well. The other 3 plants are fine so far, now I'm kind if sketched about light lol
Do you close the flap at lights out too (assuming your exhaust fan goes off too)? I would, just to make sure, especially if the room your tent is in isn't COMPLETELY dark. If the flap is open, or even if there's the tiniest of a pin-prick of a hole, any ambient light, through the curtains say, or any other artificial light source might not be enough to make your ladies photosynthesize, but they will certainly be aware of it and won't sleep properly and I've read that this can cause the 'confusion' in the plant.
Didn't mean to get u all sketched lol but, for me, it was worth investigating and it seems to have worked.

No I dont close it because I was told to keep fresh air pulling through and to not let it stagnate.

This also keeps the humidity and temperature down.

I'm not too worried about it . Its environment hasent changed since veg except for the light cycle.

I've grown outside before at my old place which was pretty bright at night ( street lights, air planes, back yard light randomly turning on and off etc )

And the 6 plants I had going did fine . It is definatley darker in here than it was outside.

Although it doesn't look great, I usually hang a large dark sheet or towel (from thrift stores) over the side of the tent that faces the exterior light. Zippers, vents, etc. all tend to leak a bit of light, but the fabric outside tends to reduce to negligible, but air still passes.
