Re-using my soil - is this safe

I just harvested my grow. Since it was a large quantity, my intention was to re-use the soil I grew in.
My question - after using all the bloom nutrients for the last 8 weeks, I am sure that even after throw wash some of it will stick.
Is this safe for my vegge?

I would say reusing soil is perfectly understood to be acceptable if you are an organic grower, I don't know how apt I would be to recycle soil that had been dosed with chemical nutes.

I wouldn't use the same soil twice. If you have used the soil for 3 plus months, you will have a build up of all your nutes, plus added salts. Flushing soil is not worth the hassle. Dump it and start fresh for peace of mind and the best possible environment for your plants. Peace

The best possible environment for your plants IS recycled soil. How much sense does it make to keep tossing away soil? I mean really, unless you sell soil and jugs as a business.

I'm in the reuse camp...I've done it...the root ball will need to be ravaged and then after i sweep up the remnants I soak the dirt let it drain off and put it back to use...you're going to add most of the needed nutes anyway...and sure someone will come along and say it's not primo dirt, we know that...g/l

If you chop the MMJ, then plant clover, grass in the soil, the existing microbes will sense the new roots and consume the old root ball

I am in the reuse camp also but with a twist. I don't reuse what I just grew in for my next run, I put in with compost and let it sit for a run. I don't know your space limitations but if you have an area to let the soil rest, add compost and whatever other ingredients that go into your mix I think you will ove the results. Keep feeding your soil, adding molasses and other food for your microbes to eat and create a soil that is well blended and totally alive for your grow. I have lots of space for my soil and usually my soil gets to sit between one and two years before reuse, but not everyone has the space or dedication to allow for this. Good Luck and Happy Growing

Dont reuse and never ever use soil from back yard. Those actions are sure recipe for desises and pests. Just buy new soil man and make sure its sterilaized. U grow gold on this soil and u are being cheap. Moreover, there is no problem with geting rid of the soil somewhere, its not like u damp plastic or other crap.

That is simply factually incorrect.
well, i was strongly advised against it. i also dont have the time, room and ability to reuse soil (some1 will suspect if will do it on my balcony). i just put it in a large black plastic bag and take a wolk with the dog. many public gardens enjoy my soil donation and the flowers there like me (but not the dog who piss on them constantly).
are u sure mixing soil from the out wont bring in all sort of bags?

Ya! I'm all for a shovel full of soil. But from a local natural field. Fields = grasses = the microbes that like grasses = the microbes that like the Canna.
