Hi all, apologies if this question has already been answered, plan on doing aero setup...
anyways I was told that you must have your res, with nutes mixed and all, pumping water to sprayers, then when it drains you cannot drain it back into your res basically cannot re use the water that has already watered the roots...Didn't sound right to me and thats why I'm here any and all help is greatly appreciated!:bigjoint:

If I understand the question correctly, the answer is no that isn't correct. The foundation of every aero system is that the spray water drains back into the res and is reused. Those pumps are rated for hundreds of gallons per hour, you couldn't mix it that fast.

Their are two ways to feed almost any system 1recirculating which pumps the nutrient solution to the plants root system then allows the runoff to go back to the Res. where they are used again or (recirculated )2 drain to waste which delivers the nutrient solution to the roots of your plants then any exes is as it says waste it will drain off and not be used.In a drain to waste system you put in more time fine tuning your feedings so you don't waste more than is necessary and your nutrients remain consistent in your batch for all feedings where in recirculation who knows whats in there after a few hours pass.:-P

If you have a commercially available aero setup it is almost always recirculating. If it is custom it can be either. I have started building a drain to waste Aero unit;-)

Thanks a lot for the info fellas, think i'm gonna go the recycling route and just change the res every three days or something :weed:

Depending on the size of the res and how many plants and what kind you may have to add water more often than every few days - ive seen 6 plants take down a few gallons later in the flowering stage in a day easy

Here's what my tubes looked like before the girls got big
