I reccomend The Wheel of Time by Robert Jordan. It is by far one of the very best fantasy I've read. The first book is "Eye of the World".
I'll check it out.I reccomend The Wheel of Time by Robert Jordan. It is by far one of the very best fantasy I've read. The first book is "Eye of the World".
When I'm done with Dead or Alive I'll give one of them a nice slow read on the back porch.I'm not liking Clancy's collabos as much as his sole-author works of the 80s and 90s.
If you like military fiction, I can recommend Harold Coyle as the author. And for fantasy, the gold standard is Lois McMaster Bujold. She writes so beautifully. The Curse of Chalion is a great sample. cn
You must give Lois a try. Her recent series is "The Sharing Knife". Not only is reading her prose like drinking Bailey's Irish Cream while crisped ... but she has an inventive take on magic that isn't just Tolkien retreaded for the nth time. cn
I have not read that one. I will get it this week and give it a shot.
I do not think that The Wheel of time is Tolken retreaded... That is the first I have ever heard anyone not care for it. I thought it was inventive and new.![]()
Oh my. I must clarify. I haven't read Wheel of Time, and apologize if I judged it by mistake. cn
I'm reading a great story from a relatively unknown author. It makes me feel all hipster and shit.![]()
