Ready for harvest? **(pics included)

Hi,

I recently posted another thread in newbie central which failed to attract any attention, resulting in me being no nearer to understanding how close my plants are (n) boohoo sad stories! but anyway, im back with another thread as I must assume my last thread was possibly a bit long winded?? I'm gonna cut to the chase this time round , pics are below , just wondering how far from harvest you guys think I am , in terms of appearance...I'm expecting some swelling in size, not sure how done these beauties are... They are now 52 days flowering, 7.5 weeks that is, vegged for 3 weeks in 15 l pots. Here's some pics, all feedback appreciated.

For full details on the grow just hit up https://www.rollitup.org/newbie-central/558220-my-first-grow-coco-cheese.html

Well, you need a microscope and check trichs to know for sure but at first look, I can tell you that you're nowhere near yet.
Those white hairs sticking out of the buds will go brown/orange next then recede back into the swelling calyx's. That's about when you harvest.
I would say at least another 2 weeks. Probably 3.

i reackon with it being cheese 2 weeks max just the the hairs go brown/orange like cues said be careful you dont leave too long you might get some seeds, but at 9 half weeks it should well be done ive harvested bang on 8 weeks with 50% orange hairs and never had complaints but leave till 75% have gone orange you'll never get it all perfectly timed!

Thanks, upon looking at the trichs through my 60x scope this may sound silly but telling between a cloudy head and a clear head seems slightly difficult when my scopes white light is on... but yh i kinda thought i was abit away. but why i wonder? I mean the guy who gave me the clones was sure he cuts his down at week 8/9 and with monday being the start of my 9th week , it seems odd that mine are behind. do you think the fact it has been flushing for a week already is gonna cause a problem towards harvest? if it does go another 2/3 weeks? thanks.

Not ready yet, at least another week to ten days they beging to flush, you will notice a darkening of the pistils and they begin to close up and it is kind of like you closing your fingers to wrap around the bud. Yours are still just sticking out like wide open fingers. You know what I mean?

thanks for the response, so wait, if you leave a plant to flower too long they can become seeds? :s without no male plants? . and with regards to the time limit, like my clone supplier said it was an 8 week strain, and like you he has never had complaints... question is, come monday i'll be at 8 weeks, do you think they look 7.5 weeks flowered right now? I'm curious as to wether iv stunted their growth in anyway, or if im actually on track for a 9 week finish at latest.

they are very seldom right on the exact time of finishing, you would be surprised to find what could slow ur plant down a week or two

RIGHT! i see what you're saying, hmmm well in that case do you suggest i resume feeding? and start flushing it in about a week ? its kinda sad to hear this sad alot of the top foilage has yellowed and i considered it normal as i thought it was reaching the end of its life. so what do you suggest?

the yellowing is normal for being that late into flowring. about feeding im not 100% sure there...... prob wouldnt hurt to give it one more dose then begin the flushing shortly after

I hear you clear bro, i'll know for next time I guess. Just hoping this stuffs gonna finish a nice product . Any suggestions in terms of action from here on... the current autopots reservoir is filled with a solution probably as weak as 5-10% of reccomended canna a&b (this is what i was flushing with). Should i up the feed for a couple weeks, or is it late enough into flowering for no more nutrients? thanks.

Mate, take the times is says on the label and add another 7-14 days min. Take the flush time into consideration. Saying week 8/9 is one thing. Where do you take that point from? Seed germ, 12/12. first flower?

Well the guy who got me the clones said from 12/12 , but for me, obviously not...There's a NEW bummer in the equation im 99% sure what I found today on one of my plants was a developing seed. It looked like a ball which was larger than all the other calyxes , it was growing on the bud but seemed to stand out from everything else. So i pulled it off, and sadly when squeezed it was quite hard inside , it opened up to be what looked like the makings of a seed. Now the next part of the problem is the fact that upon looking through my plants, theres not a male bannana to be found...and no other seeds . I'm worried about leaving the plant i found the seed on in the tent, I was hoping to chop everything down monday coming , which means around 6 more days, which MAY be stretched to 10 days if im not satisfied with calyx swelling. However, do i leave this plant in there to carry on? or do i take it down early ? or do i take it out the tent and put it somewhere else for a few days (no other light source)?

Yup, don't take her down too early. If you're desperate, take a little bit down then some more a few days later and compare. When trying new strains, it's the only way to learn when to harvest.
Where you take that bud from depends on your situation. If you are running out of space below the light, you may want to take it from the top, particularly if it's shading lower buds that are maturing. If you have popcorn at the bottom that won't come to much, trim it off there,
When it does come down, the fastest way to get a hit is to fast-dry some trim leaves overnight and make some BHO. If you're lucky it will keep you going for a few days until the first lot is dried. Then you smoke some of that while the rest is curing.
Mind you, making honey oil is also the quickest way to blow your own face off unless you are VERY careful.

thanks bro, i've done alot of reading about trichs and what not, but out of curiousity I would like to know say IF there was still alot of white pistils forming, and it didn't look fully swollen, but trichomes were say 60/40 milky amber, would I still be correct in harvesting at that point? JUST out of curiosity.
