LOL, great thread TC. The Green Pepper story reminds me of the "flavor wheel"
that scarred me with the idea of the flavors "horsey" and "mousey". ha!

I just saw hairs on an HSO Trainwreck lady. I also grew out a very strong TW back in the day.

Here is a great post on the topic:

The trimmed bud-shot looked right. Dense. :0)

Take care,

JD

I remember the flavor wheel lmao!!!

I'll check out that link JD. Is this your first run with the HSO TW?

Have any of you ran the Medicann version? https://www.cannabis-seeds-bank.co.uk/medicann-seeds-trainwreck/prod_4094.html ?

The train wreck I smoke wasn't peppery at all. Hard to describe but not peppery. I did get a cut of green house's white widow and that was straight green bell pepper tasting. Fucking gross. I sold all that shit as fast as I could.
TW cut out in OR wasn't peppery, or maybe just a lil, more of a slight lemon, lil oily kinda. Stuff was everywhere. Any Widow Ive had had more of an acrid, maybe fruity, maybe something else, but one of those once you taste or smoke it, you don't forget it. Unique profile, i guess

That's pretty much exactly how I would describe White Widow. I got several bags of WW from my dude about 2 years before I ever grew it. When I was getting it from him I didn't know if it was REALLY WW because I had personally watched this guy make names up before. However it was awesome tasty dank weed so I enjoyed whatever it was. Then a couple years later I grew out a WW freebie I got from G13labs, and it was fire! It grew thick medium density buds on nice strong stems, and had the same exact taste and smell as the bags of WW I got before. I loved that strain, and sitting here now I have no idea why I stopped growing it. I would have to read back through my grow journal.

It also sounds like the "kinda" description of the TW this guy remembers. Its been like ten years since he's had any. He always jumps when people say they have TW, but then is disappointed when it's not even close to what he is expecting.

trainwreck is peppery harsh flavor, similar to white widow. hard to improve upon a strain using them in the scross. it brings potency not flavor to the cross

i ran the blackberry trainwreck from cannaventure twice two different occasions, two full packs. interesting but stretchy. i bought a second pack because i had good results first time. ran for a year or so, ended up not making the cut
Trainwreck tastes like mentholated whale blubber soaked in lemon diesel. Legit, that's what it tastes like.

I grew trainwreck from homegrown fantaseeds back in 2012, very nice stuff.
Pine and citrus Limes with a hint of herb/seasoning smell, similar to their 'Armageddon' in effect.

I'm pretty sure their Armageddon is a trainwreck hybrid with AK47 dad. It used to be called Armageddon 47.

I appreciate everyone's input on the flavor and smell profiles. That will help narrowing down the different phenos from the seeds. Hopefully I can get something that represents the strain well.

The only chem plant I've grown was Dinachem. It wasn't anything impressive. I'd love to try a good representation of that genetic some day too.
I just finished Top Dawgs chemstar which I believe is chem d x stardawg and is chemical fuel bleachy acrid smelling stuff. Dank as all hell . Did some presses on the rosin press and is yielding over 25% returns on popcorns. By far best yield and flavour and high out of all my mothers and out of the 5 females out of the pack they were all similar in smell but the keeper is super greasy and super loud and a good yielder. Checks all the boxes but the only issue as with most Chems I have heard run 10-11 weeks to be done. I tooK mine a little early as I’m moving but still super happy with it.
