Recommendations for when to flip to 12/12?

My first time growing photos (I’ve grown autos in the past) — any recommendations on when to flip these? I have almost two feet of clearance still and the taller plant is about 13 inches tall currently. The one on the left has been vegging about 9 weeks, the one on the right closer to 6 or 7. Thanks!

9 weeks ?
What light are you using ? And in what height ?
What are your ambient temps and rh ?
That is really slow growth for 9 weeks, I'm not sure you should flower with that light or environment until you figure which one is holding you back in growth
But for the space you have I'd veg them some more, 2-3 weeks more at that rate.
Also, back off the nutes, your tips are screaming help.

That one on the left was mainlined, which slowed things down a bit. Fun to try but I probably wouldn’t do it again as I underestimated how long it would take to recover each time.

Otherwise temp and RH might have been a little low at times as it’s really cold and dry here in the winter (upper upper Midwest) and the humidifier had a hard time keeping up at times — not much of an issue now that we’re into May.

Plants were just fed yesterday, not planning on any more nutes until a couple weeks into flowering most likely.

Don't defoliate if you have room, defoliation is to uncover hidden buds and remove some rh when it's very critical.
Even when you try uncovering buds under the leaves, it's better to prone/tuck the leaves under the buds or canopy rather than pluck them as they will continue to feed the energy the plant needs just in lower levels because they are semi shaded.
If you must do it slowly once every 2 weeks depending on light penetration and development, rh and shading.
Keep in mind it is not needed in all times if space and light allow it.

Cold and dry is what weed loves, in week 8-9 of flower ;)
For now you need hot and humid !
Think rain forest, you get the picture.
Still you haven't told us what light setup you are using and what is the height of it.
The most important factors of flowering is light and water, heat aswell but that usually comes with light.

Im using the AC Infinity LED light recommended for a 2x4 tent and it’s currently about 22 inches above the taller plant at 70% intensity.

And yeah, totally get it on the hot and humid, but this is in my basement and when it’s 0 degrees F outside and 15% RH it’s hard to keep things at that level (I’m not currently comfortable leaving a heater running unattended).

At those temps even the heater is not comfortable running haha
But you are in a pickle no doubt, the best solution I have for you, and if your state is mostly cold you should def take it, it's our wonderful friend = HPS.
Say no more, thank me later
I would recommend you not flower under those conditions, especially not under leds.

Auto don't need flipping they do it all under what ever light you want

Look into LST training ( which you can still do with fabric pots. ) Tying branches open to allow inner growth to widen up plant.

There is plenty of time to set up a structured plant that will be more flip ready.

Also , what is gonna happen to those pots that dont show plants ?

The plant on the left is already high stress trained (mainlined) — the one on the right was supposed to be mainlined but after the first topping one of the two branches snapped off clean so it’s really half a plant now. Would you still recommend trying LST? (As stated above, though, none of what I had read on mainlining mentioned how much it would slow the overall growth, so while an interesting experiment, it’s probably not one I’ll try again).

The other two plants are autos that I just recently started indoors in order to get a little head start on our outdoor growing season which doesn’t get warm enough until after Mother’s Day.

When the plants in veg are 1/3 to 1/2 the total maximum height you have available to you in your grow space. This doesn't include the distance the light occupies or the desired distance between the plant and the light.

Also, forgot to ask — how much defoliation would you do prior to flipping?
Little to none, except for removal of small sap-suckers in the shade at the bottom of each plant and any dead leaves.

Tuck, don't pluck. IOW if you have a fan leaf shading out a nice bud site, tuck the fan leaf down below the bud site instead of removing it.
