Red eyes from hell?

I've been smoking for a few years. When I smoke my eyes tend to get crazy red. Does weed affect your eyes the same. I assume it's different for some?

My eyes don't usually get too red from smoking. But when I'm drinking holy shit do I get bloodshot like a son of a bitch.

My eyes sometimes get very red and squinty while smoking MJ. They can also get rather itchy, and if I rub them they get much worse. I always have a bottle of ClearEyes Triple action in my home and in the car, which is the only type I've found that doesn't feel like I'm dropping a strong acid in my eyes. It clears them up in about 5 mins, no red and they're more round. I'm a professional musician, and I like to get high in the car right before a performance. The drops are a necessity so's not to upset the squares...
