Red Stems - Curling leaves - Seedling- help!

Hi guys, I have a Dinafem WW auto which is about 4 days old and G13 Diesel auto. They both sprouted on the same day and the g13 diesel is looking healthy.

The Dinafem WW Auto's leaves are curling down and the stems look reddish compared to the G13 Diesel. Any reason to be concerned ? or will the plant pick up?

I am using Root's Organic Soil and I might have initially overwatered. Temps are 77-82 humidity 30-35 percent.

I have a 4100 Lumen CFL about 5 inches away and a set of T5s about 2 feet above.

The last picture is the G13. How do you think these guys look?

No nutes were added, distilled water and Roots Organic. Can over watering cause PH to drop thus causing nutrient lockout?

Those two round leaves below the first two true leaves, are called the cotyledons. They will start to turn yellow and fall off as part of the plants natural life cycle. They look fine, now for the curling of the true leaves, could be an over/under watering. Push your finger in the soil about an inch from the rim, it should be fairly moist, but not soaked. roots do need oxygen so be sure theres time in between watering for air to get to roots. They look okay overall though. Good job so far man.

you can bring down those t5's too. the benefit of those is that they dont get hot. I usually put mine about 6-10 inches away. Its also good for preventing stretching, your seedlings look like theyre climbing up to try and get closer to the light source. Id def put those puppies a little closer.

Thanks again for the reassurance, so as long as the true leaves aren't dropping, it's ok for the Cotyledons to droop?

Yes. They will soon be gone and just the true leaves will continue to grow.
Focus more on the curling problem, though its minor, it still should be your only concern.

I agree with Nutty sKunK, look dry, remember in those big pots you will probably have to water like every other day or so, because the water will drain to the bottom and your babies roots aren't that long yet...good luck, and they look fine to me, and remember no nutes for at least the first 3-4 weeks...happy growing :weed:

Yea your fine, that's what they should look like. They may be stretching A LITTLE bit but that would be nitpicking.

yeah those girls will be falling over soon if you dont have the light brought down and some air going over the plants gently.

they look good man keep in mind you can love your plants to death! just make sure you water consistently but not too often! at this stage you probably only need to water once a week; give them plenty of light, and a gentle wind will keep them strong :). Take care of your ladies and they'll take care of you.

Yep, I realized my mistake, overwatering. I cut the Humidifier for the day and kept temps at around 82. This should hopefully dry out the soil some.

Instead of dropping my T5s (they are at about 1.75 feet from the plants ~30k lumens), I went and bought 3 work lamps and hung them right next to each of the pots poppin off 4500 Lumen each. This should hopefully suffice. :)

Thanks again for the amazing information guys, this is my first grow and i'm already addicted :)

sounds like a good game plan,
just a side note: make sure the bulbs are at 6400 kelvin (different from lumens). you need the right amount of lumens between 3500-7000( best compared to candle watts) and the right range of Kelvin in this case 6400 kelvin for veg. you should do a little research into lighting if you're still unclear as to the difference between the two and what you need to keep your girls happy.

This is my current light setup, I have a Tek Four and a Tek 2 PL-L T5 setup (6 bulbs at 5k lumen each). I bought 6400 and 2700 bulbs, using all day time bulbs right now.

Then as you can see, I have a hanging 65 (300 w equiv) daylight CFL, also have two 2700's in the back. I'm going to hit lowes tomorrow and exchange the small CFL in back with another big 65 watter. All in all I think I'm pumpin out 500+w (and around 45k Lumen) right now. I don't want to drop the T5s any lower, I may end up having to get some milk crates to lift the pots up, but what I'm really banking on is the plants getting bigger and leaving these lights as is.

What do you guys think? Need more lights?

Yeah, I had a 50/50 mix when I first started the seedlings. I changed to all daylights this morning, still running 2 in the back, but will change those out.

I don't have my exhaust fan or carbon filter yet (last two things I need to purchase). My tent resides in my bedroom of a 1bedroom apartment which stays roughly at around 70-72 degrees all day. However, when I zip up my tent (I keep my acu-rite thermometer above all the lights, as to not record radiant temperature) the therm reads anywhere from 86-90 degrees WTF.

I have 1 oscillating fan running and 1 clip on fan. My humidifier is one of those junky walgreens brands that spit out warm mist. I might have to opt for a cool mist humidifier.

I'm not even running any HPS's. I have a DR902 and all the vents are open.

In veg, can I keep that tent open to moderate temperature?
