red tips = ready????????

Someone told me that my plant is about done but I'm not really sure if I believe it they said when the tips of the buds turn red I can go ahead and cut her down this is my first plant it dosent look even close to done to me she has only small popcorn buds growin up the branches and and most of the hairs are still white can I get some help please

When they are ready they plump up and get a little darker. Under a microscope or jeweler's loupe the trichomes will have little to no clear heads, lots of cloudy, and a few amber. The exact ratio depends on the strain and your own personal preferences. Harvesting is really more of an art than a science.

Post up some pics if you want more accurate estimates, but you should go by trich color, not bud or hair color.
