I am currently ATTEMPTING to grow Jack Flash #5. Altho lately I feel as if Im attempting to kill it...lol. These past few days I noticed that on four of the fan leaves, the stems are turning a reddish brown color...or something along those lines...i tried taking pics of it but camera is crap, therefore resulting in crappy pictures that you cant see...lol...but its only on the stem to a couple of fan leaves near the top of the plant. I am almost through week 6 in growing and have had a couple other problems with it. Such as burning the baby when it was only a couple weeks old and then too many nutes just over a week ago...Its one thing after another. Honestly I dont have nearly the money tied up into this project as some of you pro and as I probably should. No idea on ph levels. Started in some Miracle Grow moisture control crap, but have since transplanted into straight potting soil and Im also feeding it about 3/8th teaspoon to a gallon of water when she needs it. Using a Miracle grow food which i believe is a 15-20-15 formula. Any suggestions on why the stems are turning that color are greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance

Reddish brown? Or Reddish Purple?? Red/purple stems are not uncommon, usually it will be the stems of the Fan leafs.

okay....i bought a ph tester for the soil...its reading about 6.75 or so...its definitely under 7...the reddish purple has spread a little bit to other fan leaves stems and unfortunately it can be seen in the main stalk in a couple of locations....in general, the leaves with the reddish purple stems are still standing up throughout most of the day...they droop a bit at bedtime as does most of the others a little bit but they all are perking up in the morning...I think i read something somewhere about a phosphorus deficiency,....and it said something about getting a commerical phosphate to correct the deficiency....any suggestions on where i can find something like this ? is there a particular type to get ?...i had been feeding the girls with a 15-30-15 mix, and gave her a shot of super booster which i believe if i dont have the end numbers backwards is a mix of 12-56-6....plenty of phosphorus there but could it or would it fix the deficiency problem ? sorry for so many questions in the one post, am about a week away from flowering and want to try to have it going good before i reach that point. I am new to growing and havent a clue about a lot of things, so please bare with me and forgive my ignorance...lol...Happy Holidays everyone !!

well generally with the lights on its around 80, give or take a couple degrees...however with lights off it gets a bit cooler than that...could go as low as low to mid 60s over night
