RedEyeJedi's Short Rider grow..

Hi all,

Welcome to my journal...

Its taken me long enough to start it, but I will be updating every few days or when theres a noticable change!

Anyway, my set up -

(Did actually start this plant in a converted PC case, 21 days it spent in there under a 125w duel spectrum Envirolite!
The PC case was just a temporary stop gap whilst waiting for my Secret Jardin tent!)

Anyway, I'm growng in a 70/30 soil and perlite mix (Miracle grow All purpose) I know, I made every noobs mistake, but Im going with it for the time being (Its not looking to bad for it anyway) - a 1mx1mx2m Secret Jardin grow tent - 400w HPS with a reflector!
I'v got my Oscilating fan in there (Obviously)
Extractor fan and Carbon filter!
Relying on the passive intakes for the time being - its not doing bad - temps are at a steady 86/87f - humidity is at 39/40% (trying to get that up a bit)

I won't bore you with details about me, all everyone needs to know is that I'm a MJ loving mofo, typical stoner! thats why I'm 24 days into my grow and only just starting my journal! lol

Anyway, what I know you all want to see.. My 1 and only baby (for the time being - she has 2 new sisters to keep her company, they will be joining her soon enough) But here she is - at day 3 - day 9 - day 21 - day 23 and day 24 (Today) As you can all see, She's loving the new HPS !!

What do you all think then ?

Not yet - but its giving off a light skunky aroma - I'm taking that as a good sign, and on another note - I'v bought Feminised seeds so I shouldn't have to much of a problem (Fingers crossed)

Are yours like mine? (Short and stocky) or have yours stretched abit like others Iv seen pics of outdoors? (Tall and lanky inbetween nodes?

Im prefering the Indica stocky look myself !!

I know these babies grow different indoors and outdoors but I didn't think it would differ a huge amount! (This kind of stuff interests me, I don't know why - lol )

Your pic didnt come out by the way buddy! How old are yours ?

Looks pretty good man! Keep an update, I'll be watching

My pics don't really do this baby justice to be honest (they are from a 3 Megapixal mobile phone cam), Im gonna get a digital camera when I can afford it... this set up has cost me enough (Its not a cheap hobby but its worth it)

the pictue was at day 19 from sprouting. Mine are around 25 days old now i think lol but will check but they are not in direct sun due to neigbours can see them

Well, our babies are the same age - mine is 25 days from germ also!

From what I'v read around various sources of the WWW - they start to take off about now (3/4 weeks old)

I hope so, I only chose it because of its early finishing! If I'd have known that it didn't autoflower before I bought the seeds I probably would have chosen Northern lights or something?!

Thanks for stopping by - As you can see, I'v given up on the PC grow idea - it wouldn't of produced the right amount for both me and the Mrs, So went with the tent idea!

Also V12, as you probably may remember, My friend was meant to be sorting me out with Ice Cream cuttings,
(Well, he had a spidermite problem and with my brand new grow set up that cost me a small fortune, I wasn't prepared to be infested myself)

So I went with Nirvana's feminised Short Rider and so far I'm pretty impressed with it (I'm pleased it isn't a real autoflower now too), she's starting to smell real nice - I just hope she rewards me with some skunky buds?! LOL

Anyway, enough of my ramblings!

Wise move not using the infested cuttings. Shame though, Ice Cream is a real pleasure. You're right that a pc grow wouldn't cover 2 heads though. Hope the tent works out.
I thought short rider was an auto? Have you heard different?
Sounds quite promising anyway. Hope it does what it says on the tin.

How tall are they mine are about 23 days old too.

You can always make a greenhouse with white Poly plastic; they'll never know

LOL - My baby is a laughable 2/3 inches high! A stocky little thing though! she smells good already too (not exactly showing sex yet) but smelling is a good sign!

How tall are yours Shawty? Do yours smell yet?

Yeh, I did love the ice cream while it lasted (a good 2 months)
Was looking forward to growing myself but like I say best part of a monkey spent on my set up so not prepared to risk it!
The only thing that is messing with my head is the humidity - its stuck between 31 and 40 ? I'v just been misting her every 2 hours or so - I'm stumped until payday!
As for short Rider - I'm reading mix reviews all over the place but Chemindueced's thread gives the best example of it - I hope mine can go as well - if not better than his - I'm gonna try feeding mine alot less to see if this helps - Looks VERY sensitive!

ihave 5 going 3in, 4 in, 6 and 2 7inchers....lol
they are a lil funky and i got preflowers alot on the 3 biggest.
