I wasn't sure they'd make it, but the Redwings (7th seed) start the playoffs Tuesday in Anaheim against the Ducks (2nd seed).

I just moved to the northern kentucky area about a year and a half ago for my job, but I was in Metro-Detroit for the previous 20 years, so i'm still a die hard wings fan.
Anaheim will be a real test but anything can happen in the playoffs, we just need to get hot at the right time. Let's go wings!

There used to be an AHL team in Lexington and one in Louisville. If you live any where near either of those cities you should be able to catch a Griffins game and check out some future Wings.

It looks like the RedWings have only one direction to travel in the odds this post season ;)

Odds to Win 2013 Stanley Cup at BOVADA as of April 29:

Pittsburgh Penguins 7/2
Chicago Blackhawks 15/4
Boston Bruins 17/2
Anaheim Ducks 12/1
Montreal Canadiens 12/1
Los Angeles Kings 14/1
St. Louis Blues 14/1
Vancouver Canucks 14/1
San Jose Sharks 16/1
Washington Capitals 16/1
New York Rangers 18/1
Toronto Maple Leafs 20/1
Minnesota Wild 22/1
Detroit Red Wings 28/1
Ottawa Senators 28/1
New York Islanders 40/1

Yea I think they are still there. I have been getting my hockey fix in Cinci via the ECHL. The Cinci Cyclones they are called. pretty good hockey. $1 PBR's to boot. What could go wrong?

My keys to beating Anaheim:

1. Match their physicality. They have one of the bigger defensive sets in the league, headed up by Getzlaf and Co. In order to play the possession game, we are going to have to match their physical presence on the Ice. I'll be looking for guys like TooToo with his intensity Et. Al for this.

2. STAY OUT OF THE BOX and Score on our power plays. We had 50 more powerplays than anaheim this year. We'll need to capitalize when they are shorthanded.

3. Slow Getzlaf down as much as possible. Dude is their leading their team in points, with 34 assists and 15 goals.

4. Howard- He's gotten his check. Time to put up or shut up.

5. Hank and Pavel- They gotta take the bull by the horns and continue to lead and score. If they go cold, write us off.

WINGS IN 7

My take is that we have a bunch of talented kids whom have yet to experience much post season grind. Tomorrow starts a new for the RedWings and a lot will depend on our youngsters perspective as much as performance. Anyone remember the 84 Olympics ;)

I like the Wings in this series. They are playing well at the right time of the year, and I don't think Anaheim is as good as their record suggests, and their goal tending is suspect.

Chicago is very good, but they will have their hands full with Minnesota.

I'm taking the Wings in 6, and the Wild in 7. You heard it here first Corso! :-)

Cinci used to have an AHL farm team for Anaheim back when I played. Babcock was their coach for a season or two.
