reflective glass

i was bored thinking what could be used inplace of mylar or white paint in my new grow room. i thought about how reflective things like street signs or the decals on cop cars are. i mean you can see those from a mile away. i did alil looking into it and what makes them so reflective. turns out its nothing more than paint that has been dusted with very fine glass beads. i found a place to get the glass beads cheap. its less than 2.00 a pint, and a pint of glass is enough to cover 5 gallons of paint. so i could paint my room and have it as reflective as those decals super cheap. i was just wondering if any1 has read anything, had an opinion, or tried this before.

sounds very interesting. I have no knowledge for or against this. Im guessing it will boil down to whether or not it is causing any hot spots due to the irregular surface.... ie the bumps from the glass beads

iv'e just tried white gloss paint and its much more reflective than tin foil, two plants at side of my grow room next to the gloss paint are growing straight despite being at a angle away from light, lookin good

i've used these beads to paint fishing lures with. it's like very fine sand. it is VERY reflective underwater. i do know that.

white paint is much better than tinfoil for sure
here is a chart for "reflectivity" from Jorge Cervantes Growers Bible:
Foylon 94-95%
reflective mylar 90-95%
FLAT white paint 85-93%
semi-gloss white paint 75-80%
flat yellow paint 70-80%
Aluminum Foil 70-75%
Black less than 10%

Im a painter by trade.... i would simply paint one coat of flat white paint over the top of the high gloss... it will serve you very well for cleaning it....... the gloss has much more plastic type material in it making it harder for moisture to penetrate. Using one coat of flat will knock down the sheen but still give you plenty of protection.
