reflective material for grow room walls

Considering there is no canopy in that pic I posted and this is a thread about reflective material you sir are a fucking moron.

I run them 18” at flower. Sounds like you’ve never grown with boards before let alone grown cannabis?

I used to use the dashboard protectors you can get at the dollar store
Their made of dimpled mylar
Smacked em up on the walls with w staple gun and done.
It won't work as a wall
But it will reflect light on q budget of like ten bucks lol

With the prices these days it's probably easier and maybe cheaper to just buy a tent than build a room. Unless you need to hide the grow room better than a tent out in the open.

I'd recommend not getting the cheap Mylar, the thin 2mil stuff or even the blankets, if you hold a flashlight up to them you will see that light still penetrates the material, if you choose to go with Mylar I'd suggest getting the 6mil diamond print Mylar, the thinner Mylar is a waste of energy and materials for growing purposes imo, even if it says horticultural grade Mylar on the box, only around 90% or less light was reflected back out in my tests I conducted, plus I found any small scratches and wear in the material were easily made and allowed for even more light penetration through the material afterwards.

Id probably go with white paint as others have suggested if I were you, I don't know if flat or glossy is better personally but bright white seems to be the key factor to having enhanced reflective abilities found in the paint of your choice.

Either or will do the job, just depends on what you have to spend on it and the look you are going for, in a pinch paint spreads a lot further and is easier to utilize than roll or sheet would cover.

If you use white paint gonwith flat white it reflects more. If you use the mylar with the diamond etching it is more reflective with up to 97%. This is what I will be using for my next grow

VIVOSUN 6 Mil Mylar Film Roll 4 FT X 50 FT Diamond Film Foil Roll Highly Reflective Grow Room (50 FT) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01N7P96NN/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_.eokDb8SAFHJF

I bought a roll of this and it went into the trash bin. Terrible quality control as most of it was still see through when held up to light and some of it wasn’t.

Ended up going with orca film and am very happy in the long run.

Yeah that seems like it might be the destiny for this 100 ft roll of 2mil I purchased, I may donate it to someone If they wanted it locally but I won't be using it in my tent, this stuff is only a sliver better quality than the reflective double wall bubble insulation they sell at all the big hardware stores, honestly folks Mylar is overrated it isn't the cure all answer to light dispersion that we are all after, it absorbs light right through it, it itself is inherently not a perfect material and this is a myth that I'd like to help others steer away from, not worth the time, disappointment and inefficiency, seriously.

6mil is better but based on what I tested, it too will still loose like 3% of the light into the material, which has been said but still why spend an arm and a leg on material that is inferior to other films, or even a simple white painted surface?

Hope this steers someone in the right direction, peace.

Not that I am doubting you at all, rather I am curious, how did the AC start the fire? Generally a motor overload would trip a breaker. Must have been a perfect storm of events to burn down the shop. Bummer man. Did insurance replace the structure and contents? Good luck with your new grow! What strains do you plan to run or don't know yet?

The way that the fire chief explained to me is the ac was to big for the building it was in (it was a portable). He didnt explain much more just pointed and asked what was in tis location? When I said ac thats when he presented his theory. I saved money on building a new building by building it entirely by myself. This way i was able to use the extra funds for better equipment. I lost almost 30 yrs of accumulated construction tools but was unable to replace most of that. Ive been out of construction for a few years now and hadnt use most of it since. As for what strains i ppan to grow, I have no clue lol I literally dont know alot about growing since that was my first grow. The other road block is the nearest clones are 70 plus miles away and not a really big selection. I thought about trying start from seed but know even less about that or where to get any. Plus the places i have located to purchase seeds are outrageously priced making clones my economic choice. Back to the fire, the wife and I weren't even home, we were at a hotel kicking it getting ready to go sit in the hot tub when I got a call from a neighbor. Tis fire literally destroyed everything inside completely without even leving the inside of the building. It was a crazy wierd site there were things I had in there that we never found. I tore it down and had the new building up in two weekends. Ran a 60 AMP service with 4 circuits. The last site was a little questionable in the wiring since it has been here longer than ive owned the house.

Silver over white because it dosent show all the dirt and need cleaning as much. I was a white lover initially :-)

Kind of an asshole dont you think?
If there is no context except agression then yes.

I would rather try and connect with these people than slander them back and generally put in a comment when i see newer members using such tone.

Be constructive patient and openminded and for sure you will fit in and master your own destiny - growing handfulls of bud :-)
