Mike im either going to run the SS 2 hood with the glass or without, you said exactly what i was talking about with the light dispersion.

Simon if the light has to be 15" above the canopy or you meant below the canopy ? sorry im confused. What size tent would you recommend for a SS2 bro ?

Poly would you suggest the SS2 bro ?

Above the canopy. I was talking about dispersion, not penetration. Meaning, how the light covers the canopy relative to its intensity. You really should read the thread link'd by Mike.

I wouldn't use a SS2 with full size plants. To answer your question, a 3x3 footprint with a 600. Just so you're ready, if you lower the SS2 to, say, ~8" above the canopy the plants on the edges of the garden will get very little light.

Simon i read the link from Mike & the Super sun 2 out performs all the rest they tested in a 3 x 3 area on average, how many plants would you suggest i grow with the 600 & a ss2 ?

Yes, that's true, given a certain distance above the canopy. Pico measured the hoods at 18". As you expressed an interest in getting your light as low as possible, this reflector's dispersion suffers as a result.

Depends on the plants. I, personally, would not use a SS2 and would run 7-9 trained and pruned like this:

Would you use a adjustawing then ? My interests in getting the light closer might be for wrong reasons, i just want an efficient method in which i can get the most out of what im putting in, if using a reflector that going to cost me alot due to my region, it doesnt matter cause if its the solution then ill do it, i just dont want to go for a ss2 spend all the money & work out that i would of been better off with a normal adjustawing.

I'll put my two cents in cool tubes run so cool the glass was 55 degrees ferinheight after 16 hours on! I'm in a 4 foot square by 6 foot space flowering only with 1000 watt hps loss of light what are you high,,Well of course you are we all are but I have 400-600 hydrafarm units and they suck..too much weight no remote ballast not digital entry level my space has 5000 btu A.C. and my temps are a solid 77 degrees, 48,000 lux at 5 feet equal through the space with no hot spots. jack

I've never used an Adjustawing, so I can't really comment. I've used and measured batwings, FWIW. It's like giving away half of your light. If this were my garden, I'd run a Blockbuster and use a 6" centrifugal fan to cool the room and the light at the same time.

Simon, thats my main point aswell i want to lose the least amount of light i can, Do you really not think the ss2 is any good even i build a tent the correct size for it ? I mean i would go for a blockbuster
but its pushing the limits of my budget.
