i prefer to grow regular seeds, i think this is mostly habit , i have had some good results from fems, but also a higher rate of hemi's from fems
i feel more comfortable that the females will be less likely to show later signs of hemming from reg seeds,
it is not so bad when a plant shows both male and female signs early on during sexing, as they can be easy discarded and do no damage to other plants
it is when plants that are female suddnely sprout male flowers during weeks 4 onward this is perhaps the worst time to hemi, it wastes so much space and time
and can pollinate the rest of your crop
i have never seen regular seed strains turn hemi like this in the later stages of flowering, some do produce male flowers at the start and end of flowering , but this is not damaging
like i said though this is all just my habbit mostly
many folk grow out fems and have little issues with hemis , i would just rather not take any risk
it is easy to select males at 4-5 week of veg, during pre-flower if you keep them small and trim them they will waste very little space
i am able to remove males , keep the remaining females and still fill every inch of space with the remaining female plants on any seed run
peace
