Regular Seeds or Feminized Seeds

hey everyone i was just wondering if theres a difference between regular seeds and feminized seeds on my next order of seeds i was gonna get a regular pack but worried if i spend a nice buck for em and they all are males then it would be a waste just wanted to know the female-male ratio of an average regular seeds pack

true that, definitly go with fem seeds. I hate growing a bunch of plants and then weeding out the males, it's a waste of time and money (soil, nutes and ouf course your personal attention) Just go with the fem man all the way. Yea attitude has a pick and mix and they got a descent solection.

Almost two years since last post...where did everyone go...jail? Feminized seeds in my estimation are the best bet. I bought regulars only to get one female out of ten...not a good breakdown. Also tried the auto-flower...have beautiful buds almost ready to harvest..."all the pretty little horses ready to run." Now we just need to keep the Feds out of California's business. When it comes to Washington D.C. it's SNAFU!!! I'm not a libertarian, but leave my Medicare, Social Security and my Herbs alone!!! I'm capable of taking care of things myself, thank you!

If you get a good strain, and you want to make some more seeds, it is nice to have the regular seeds. You can create a whole ton of seeds very easily, especially if you have a separate grow space to isolate a male and female. A friend of mine got 600 seeds off of two small plants. These ended up being really good seeds. This is much easier than starting clones. So that is the big advantage of the regular seeds. I have also heard rumors that the feminized seeds are more prone to hermies, but this can also happen with regular seeds.

i thought feminized seeds had hermi tendencies? a bunch of people told me to never buy them. i could be wrong though. i never grew them before

My first garden is 7 weeks into flowering today and today i found out that they are all hermies. I used fem beans og #18, rocklock,NL and WW. Now im pondering buying cali connection regular ogiesel. I am now scared of the fem beans should i be. Found bananas on the rocklock and ww

Correct me if I'm wrong, but finding hermies that late isn't all bad. It is certainly better than finding them when they first start flowering, at two or three weeks. If these are indeed late hermies, and your plants are at eight weeks flowering, you might only have a week or two left on some of your plants. So the pollen might not do much damage.

My first grow out of 3 feminized seeds I got one hermie but i didn't catch it in time and it ended up pollinating one of my other plants. Thankfully my blueberry was finished early so didn't get affected.

if you want to grow a couple of plants get feminized, if youre a perpetual grower and/or need strong mothers go with regular

Feminized is the easier option and probably worth the extra cash but if you know what your doing and really look after your regular seeded plant with minimal stress most of them will be female.

More stress = more likely to be a male.

Atleast in my experience.

thats what i'm trying to find out. I'm thinking of just buying individual reg seeds of the strains i like, plant them all outside (hidden of course) and let nature run its course. When I'm done I'll never need to order another seed again

I've run plenty of both feminized and reg seeds. I now only run reg seeds and won't run any fem beans unless that strain isn't available as a reg bean.

More stable for cloning from and many of the top breeders only sell regular seeds.

I've run both fem and reg, but my vote goes reg seeds. One I like a male here and there for my seed production, two I guess I am just more of natural kindof a person. I just read all the posts and what I got out of it is there are many people with problems from hermies. In my exprience, about 45 years worth of growing, when I get hermies it is usually something that I did to cause it. I have been working with Sannie's genetics now almost exclusively now for the past 6 years without any problems. Comes down to space and your personal taste with fems or reg beans.
