rejuvenation

hi has any one try to get a plant to go though the rejuvenation stage and back to produce bud agian. plus if possible how and could you end up with a tree of weed or bush that will provide weed every 7-12 weeks or so

I believe its called re-vegetation (and you might get a bigger response in the main general thread area too btw Anyways,.......there are plenty of articles to plenty of techniques to use, A much less complicated method is to just cut off all of the buds and stems to a certain point and leave some of the plant to grow back (in other words don't chop off the entire stem at the base when harvesting and leave some "leaves" and branches on it and put back under 20-24 lighting

cheers for that advise do you think it is possible to get more harvest a year though this prosses than from seeds plus do you think that you could get a tree out of this method

It takes it too long to revert and recover for it to be a worthwhile strategy, your much much much better off doing a perpetual w/clones.

with starting a clone.. Do you cut a branch while the mother is vegging or while flowering??

I've been wanting to clone my dp plant & dont know the proper way in doing so...

the best way is to clone doing veg. though it can be done in flowering the shock of the cut and of reverting back to veg can cause too much stress... if you do take care and watch very close. esp. for hydro units

LOL looks like your thread is getting jacked by clones ahhhhhhh!!!!!!!! hahaha ne ways yeah you could get multiple harvests by re-vegging, however, like it has been said it is not very practical, although some growers like to do it, nevertheless, the best way is this....

If you are very fond of a certain plant you can keep it in vegetative stage (18 hrs of light a day minimum) and just take clones i.e. cuttings(research on the threads or google it, as it is a very simple process please research first before just to make sure you are doing it properly) Ill give you the gist of it is to snip off a part of the plant with new growth, then keep it in a cup of water to make sure no air gets in the veins of the branch, and then take it out of the water and then cut the end of stem at 45degree angle then quickly dip it in some gel or powder specialised for rooting/cloning and stick in some soil and or peat cubes rockwool doesn't really matter, and then let the roots grow from there while keeping the new clone/cutting humidified well.
That way you get to keep the original plant (mother) growing for years, and can have literally hundreds of clones from it in its lifetime.

This is the most practical and BEST way of using a plant to its fullest, and the best way to keep your plant going on and on and on for years to come.

And yes some grow their mother plant out till it is even 3-4 meters tall and never let it flower so yes you can get a "tree" out of it

I like taking a clone from the flowering first generation female and then root and revert the clone to veg and use it as a mother if i decide to keep a plants genetics as a mother plant. I didn't know you could do that with clones, interesting...I may clip a clone off my female when it is ready and try to throw it back into veg. Would you have to take a clone before the original 'mother' reaches flowering? Only thing that doesn't intice me with clones is that...it's not a clone. I guess if you act as if the phenos and size that the mother puts off as the 'personalilty' that can't be cloned. Only time I see me using clones is a sea of green type setup and when I have the space and time to do that. The other decent thing I like about clones is the assurance of females. So I am sure when the budget gets tight and I need an extra grand at the end of the summer for school I will have a back-up if need be.

As for re-vegging, if all goes well and I manage to get healthy female(s) I plan on keeping the healthiest alive in my closet grow since CFLs save power...why waste so much time and money on setting up a new plant? I am deffinately interested in trying re-vegging once I see how my ladies react to my ferts.

In the long run my plan to preserve my genetics over the years (hopefully) is to have a santioned grow area for hermies so that once I buy a pack of females for say I can have future access to that strain if I want. This being in the efforts to find the strain(s) I really like and may make further studies on.
