Has anyone cracked this nut yet. I have to go out of town for work and I am going to be gone for about 5 weeks. I have the rest of my Hydroponics dialed in but i am trying to find a mechanism that will allow me to remotely move my lights up by the use of an app or logging into an IP address driven website.
I have a small purpose built block and tackle system with 50lb braided fishing line hooked to a NEMA 17 stepper motor with an Adrino board but the issuse is that if the motor is ran in hard stop mode, yes it holds my light but it will get way too HOT. ran in High Z stop and its a waste of time as the light just comes back down once the electricity is shut off.. YOu would think that with all this technology we have, someone would of made such a device...especially a 12V or 24v one for use with Solar and battery banks on remote/Clandestine grow ops.
Ive searched Google and the interwebs and Youtube but no joy... The Dark web wasnt much help either.
