Hey guys soi found a really good looking soil for my plants but the downside is that its got slow release fertilizer in it so I'm wondering if anyone knows of a quick way of removing it possibly by baking or running hot water through it, I'm not sure but I sure would love to use this soil and unfortunetly I'll have to drive over 150km if I was to get full organic soil as its not sold here in my town

Only shops available to me are grocery stores which only have 3 different brands of soil all of which contain slow release ferts.

Grab a spoon and get all the little balls out very time consuming but it's all you can do
You think baking the soil for a couple hours might work to pop them all and then do a week long soak/flush in water to rid of the ferts

You answered your own question .... Too much trouble . Apparently ( according to label )
It can sustain a plant for 4 Months .... 4 months. That is WAY TOO HOT of a soil even if you could hypothetically remove every granule.

Imagine how much time it would take to MAYBE reduce concentration.
These CONTROLLED FERTILIZERS release fertilizer on EVERY WATERING. !!!

That is a nightmare for your plant - overfeeding and burning for sure plus it is more than likely missing other key nutes ( for mj ) that would be found in other " balanced " mixes.

Save the grief and source another medium ( more common to cannabis growing ) thru the posts and soil grows being done here. If " soil " is cant be located nearby ... Try Hempy Growing ( perlite only or Vermiculite / Perlite mixes ) or DWC self running setups or a homemade hydro setup ( diy ). .......... Plan B

If buying from general hardware stores I would only recommend tui power pot, but the best stuff is either gro organic from easygrow or terrazilla from sog (hyalite)

All the cheap ones at the hardware store will give you gnats. So just be prepared to deal with them.

Also there is nothing wrong with ferts in your soil. I don't really use any added nutes unless they are needed

Nah bro, but it really doesn't matter. I did find that you can get gants in any of the soils anyway. Its just our conditions I guess. Just grab some vectobac off the net and that shit sorts them out in one drench.

I'm moving away from soil and going rdwc. I'm sick of dealing with loads of soil.

I dont know if your in the US or not but despite everything bad I hear about Foxfarm Ocean Forrest, I haven't found any that I like better mixed with some regular Pro-Mix and Perlite.
Here it is advertised 2 bags 30 bucks total shipping and all.

Never mind this. I didnt realize that 12 qt bags were not the big size bags. Imagine my surprise when a little box landed on my porch that I was expecting to be 2 bags of shit.
I guess once again I scammed myself. I'm certainly not above a little assholery now and then :).......I just hate when it costs me money
