Renting a Property for a MMJ grow - Questions as an owner, not a tenant.

A friend of mine has a property in washington state that he plans to rent half of to a legal Washington MMJ patient, but we're having issues figuring out how to make sure everything is in compliance and that there are proper clauses to indemnify the property owner in case the patient decides to go overboard it's on him type thing... So my question is does anyone have a property guide for renting to a MMJ patient in washington state? I checked through the DOH's very very long brochure and found nothing that really helped and I have glanced around the public legal information reference center but nothing about rental's and medical cannabis... any idea where to start?

Hey can't help you in that respect, but I know about 20 people that will soon have their cards and will be looking for caregivers to handle their business.know about 30 more that can't afford the authorization, all have qualifying conditions.I believe in this Shit and would to make a few bucks in the process.People get back to me.

The first call your friend should make is the insurance company who presently carries coverage on the house and see if this type of activity would be covered. Underwriters worry about what damage can occur with copious amounts of water and electricity being combined, overseen by potheads. Go figure...

If you get by that hurdle his next call should be an attorney in the town where the house is to see if an agreement could be written that could absolve the owner of responsibility. Who's gonna pay when the Feds rip off the doors and break out the windows. Maybe it's the reason why somebody wants to rent, and not put their property in jeopardy.
