I'm not sure what his schedule is like, but you can probably buy one from him. It takes a couple weeks to build.

Thanks everyone! And yea, I am totally loving my cobs. My room has not gone above 82 degrees all summer- and we have been in the midst of a brutal heat wave the last few weeks.

Right now there are 10 cobs in there for a total of around 600 watts. I think another Photon 180 and maybe one more mailbox and I'll be done. The cobs effectively cut my energy consumption in half. I can't wait to get rid of the 600 HPS!

You can't really tell from the photos, but the concrete is painted flat white. I almost bought some Mylar last week. Might be a good project for next week...

I am contemplating grabbing one of these in the next few weeks to add to the mix:

These are only $299 for the next month at Northern Lights.
GoGreenLEDs is selling a 4cob CXB3070 fixture only for a few more days (end of july) for $370 with "July4th" code at checkout for THIRTY percent off.

So, it seems that my buds are a bit smaller but tighter forming than under my HPSs. The buds near the 3000k are bigger and nicer looking, however. Since I only have the one 3000k, I am figuring that the buds under it are getting a better mix of 3000 and 4000 and creating a better bud.
I am going to buy another Photon, so now I'm thinking of going with 3000k again instead of a 4000. Any thoughts?

From left to right- Wall : 2 Mailboxes : Photon : 2 Mailboxes : 600 HPS is the current setup over the 7x3 space. I want to replace the 600 hps with another Photon.

That's a good idea. The 3000k/4000k mix works best ime. The 4K gets incredible density and the 3000k elongate the nugs. Good complimentary spectra.

Then there's always 3500k.... lol.
It's not the same in practice. I have tested all three individually and mixed. Hving 3k mixed with 4K does not grow the same as 3500k. Good though though, lol. If only lights worked like the color wheel.

Ya I mixed 6-3500k & 2-4000k. But now I just got this Ecosunlite and it used 2-5000k & 1-3000k. I wish I had a few 3000ks more..

3000k I have noticed pushes a little bit ahead of the rest as far as nug physical size during flower, but resin production and density really does better with higher k cobs. Haven't experimented with anything higher than 4000k though. And will probably continue running with 3k and 4K. May add some 2700 90cri at somepoint. But I'm pretty sure that will be a negligible difference.

Thanks, guys! I just think I need more 3000k to go with all the 4000 I'm running.

Ya I am noticing the 3000k side of my grow is giving the nugs more bulk but maybe like 5-10% more..although i have supplemental monos on the 3000k side but i ave the same clone cut under each light build to compare the difference when harvest comes around...But i agree i am more then happy with the 3500k also but liking the 3000k wiith added monos alot better,,,but wont be hurt by the 3500k at all...peace and love, happy growing:peace::bigjoint:

That's cause COBs don't have enough red in their spectrum or UV light, grow the same strain under a HPS/MH combo and it will be bigger, frostier and quicker to finish because of the spectrum. That's why some LED makers use supplimentry LEDs surrounding the COBs , to prop up that spectrum, COBs make decent intensity but lack in the spectrum department. If you want bigger buds get a 730nm far red bar, that will help the spectrum of those lights immensely. For more frost get some of those Agromax UV t5's run them 15 minutes per hour starting halfway through 12/12.

Yeah, HPS grows big buds because of it's "fabulous" SPD but NOT it's efficiency right??? lol

Another thing to note is that you need higher canopy temps with cobs to get the same photosynthetic rates. Lack of ir that hps has.
