Reptile lights usually emit UV light. I think I've seen a ceramic, bulb-like thing for reptiles that emits IR, as well.

Plants like UV and IR to an extent, but certainly not as primary lighting. You probably wouldn't even have your UV or IR bulbs on for the full lights on portion of your schedule.

Reptile lamps produce high output UVA and UVB light. Plants that grow at high altitudes are also exposed to high levels of UV radiation and produce resins and oils that act like a sunscreen. Whether or not it produces a higher quality crop than without is a matter of some debate. Try it, just towards the end of flowering and for short periods.
