You haven't been paying attention. No matter how repugnant, if a candidate runs as a republican the GOP leadership will back them. If elected, they will support them. They won't impeach them or sanction them for anything.
Go back to 2008 and review every days headlines from then on. Find one example where either the house republican leader or the senate republican leader took a principled stand against the gop position or member on anything.. Bet you can't find one where it matters, meaning they took action rather than fapped their gums.
And resignations don't count.
