Res recirc question?

Off color coul be a sign of pyth, in thinking the roots will enjoy some oxygen, and hopefully battle off the pyth,.. My roots are also slightly of color, but any new growth shoul be white and fuzzy,..
How long is the time between floods?
My roots are just barely dry towards the top,, damp in the bottom (4" abs)
I think over water and too much air time can cause the leaves to droop similarily, I'd check and see how the roots look just before the flood cycle,..

The leaves are actually curling under but only on the one strain. I wont be growing any of these strains again so when i start the next indoor run in Sept. I'll post pics. Also I think I have fungus gnats lol. Just a giant suck run lol. Gotta say what little kosher I got is quite good though!

Put a 1/4 of a mosquito dunk in a pair of panty hose and throw it in your resevior. The plants don't take it up, but it kills the larva. You'll still see gnats for a week or two but leave the mosquito dunks in your resevior and their numbers should greatly diminish.

Sorry Squid, what is a mosquito dunk? I've never heard of it. I would love to try it. My plants are in the final stages (I hope lol) of flower, still safe at that stage?

Yup, they are still safe to use. It's similar to the probiotics found in yogurt if I'm not mistaken. Anyway, it kills the larva. It's all natural and the plant doesn't uptake or absorb any of it. In fact the little dunks themselves don't really have much of an odor at all.

You can find them at Lowes and most Ace Hardware stores. The come in packs of 9 I believe and they look like little gray dougnuts. Google them. I keep a peice of one in my waste res and I keep one by the drain in my floor.

Depending on the size of your resevior, you'll probably only need like a 1/4 of one. I like to put them in a pair of panty hose because they will break up and get messy. They were made to combat malaria. Dunks can be placed anywhere that stagnant water collects and attracks larva. One dunk is good for a couple months and is big enough to be placed in a small pond. I used them all around my property and IN my koi pond last year and both me and the misses said they seamed to work-way less mosquitos then previous year when we could barely sit outside for 10mis.

There are a few methods that people use with the dunks.

I believe some people will put peices in little dishes of water all around their grow, or even crumble them up and put a layer on their topsoil, so every time they water a tiny bit dissolves.

I will like to mention that some people swear by them, and some people don't. I've personally had success with them. Just remember that it's not an instant fix.

I realize that but thought the whole reasoning behind F/D was more oxygen. I run constant flow so yes do understand the oxygen in flowing water or my plants would be long ago dead lol, beside i fly fish in rivers lol.
I scored a dissolved oxygen meter and determined that around 5.0 ppm was no better than around 6.0 ppm relative to plant health.

If you're looking for the most effective method of nute delivery------then that's true aero. By true aero the roots are hanging vertically---not laying in a tube, tote, etc.

If your roots are in oxygenated nutes------you can't over water in hydro (aka dwc).

I love to fly fish,

Well it did start out as a two tote flood and drain then I turned the pump on 24/7 cause I wanted to get rid of air pumps and see the results which were good. Just trying to polish the apple I guess but also this last run suffered from something and not sure what so trying a few things. And i have seen post were it was said that in a hydro system plants were getting to much water and to extend flood times so I got to wondering lol.
