Being an A/C Tech I design duct and ventillation systems for a living. Whenever I can come up with the extra money (won't be long, few months maybe) I plan on building an enclosed grow room in the back part of the closet you see my girls growing in now in the pics I've put up. The Xtrasun reflector I'm using comes with the glass and other pieces needed to completely enclose the bulb inside the reflector (in fact it came that way and I had to take it apart) except for the built in 6" flanges on either end. I want to get a high cfm rated inline fan which I will install up in the attic to keep the noise outta the house and suck air from inside the house (all of the ducting will be in the attic) which stays at about 73 degrees blast it through the reflector then duct it back into the attic and let it dump the now warm air right back into another part of the house. The heat (as well as humidity) will then be dealt with and controlled by the central AC system. I also want to use a second, larger inline fan (also to be put in the attic, I want this to invade the inside of my home as lil as possible or at least my wife does LOL) to circulate the cool conditioned air from inside the house constantly through the grow room passing through a carbon filter before being dumped back into the house. I want to have something big going on while inside the home it seems as if nothing is going on. Those inline fans are expensive though!
I currently have controls on my AC system that not only cycle my AC on and off by temperature but also by the humidity level of the cotrollers choosing. Its called a dehumidistat. Instead of buying a dehumidifier I use my AC system to do it. The dehumidistat cost me $10 at the parts house. Ok, it cost my boss $10 at the parts house cause I just took it off my work truck. LOL!
Yea it must be handy being an a/c tech and growing! Thats one of the harder things that have givin me head aches in the past, temp issues sucks ass!! I'm sure going into it you already had a good idea of ventillation and cooling.. That dehumidistat sounds pretty useful, So basically you can change and control the humidity in your house with your a/c?

Thanks, eventually I want to give breeding a try but I'm still a ways away from that... How about a pineappleKush :) That sounds interesting lol..

thats right! you can totally controll humidity with ur central air conditioning system! Not with window shakers though, only central AC systems are gonna give you the level of control you need.

I'm just waiting for winter to set in so it won't be a million degrees in my attic when I go up there and start putting all this together. It will be in the mid 80's here today which means it will be over a 100 in my attic still so i gotta couple months to wait still before it gets cooler here.

Pineapple kush does sound good id cross that with my auto bubelicous i made n that i think would be killer. My cross is more consistant than nirvanas as i think they hurried theirs to much. But your doin great n take your time with your strains and learn them well before breeding it will help you out allot. Iv been growin n breeding autos for a while now and have a great time its alot of work but very rewarding in the end but honestly have some good smoke while in the process youll need it cause its frusterating sometimes. Lol.

I got my seeds from Attidudes and they did a good job of fulfilling my order. They were out of one of the strains I ordered but they sent me a strain of equal value (my choice) to complete the order. I got one of the promotional Privata Kandy Kush's and it is now in the struggling seedling phase (9 days after I started germinating them).

I love attitude great service and quick. I buy my stock strains there when i see something i want to play with. Good quality seeds as well. I always breed them before i start experimenting so i never run out. Only once in a while i buy feminized so i can cross them and share with friends. Im a strain horder i guess lol. Just watch it close and give it love it will treat you right n listen to it as it will tell you what it likes n dislikes. Good luck bro.

I'm sure that will come in pretty handy for me one day, thanks for the info!!

I hear ya on that bro, way to damn hot to be climing in the attic @ 100 degrees..

Thanks chirim, when you breed would you have to worry about pollen getting through the a/c if you where growing in the same house 2 different rooms? I was just curious as to how you go about growing your males out, I still want to get to know these strains like you said and figure out what I like before I start experimenting but I always wondered about that.. Do you just pollenate the lower branches or do you let the male just grow with the female?

Thats good to hear deliboy, one more satisfied customer from the tude :) Let us know how that KK does in the next couple weeks!

In my last 2 grows I've realized that if you do watch them close and pay attention to what they like, you will be rewarded for sure!!

Smelly trees what i do is grow in my basement and have 6 seperate tents set up. I start in 2 and as they show sex i divide them up into one of the 4x4 tents. I ran 6" pvc and tee it off to each tent intake and cool tube on the exhaust side i put in 1 way flappers like a outside dryer vent has that dumps in a small a/ c duct and to the others exhausts and dumps under my porch away from intake i was worried about it blowin around the house at one time and put a panty ho over it but i think that came from the nl#5 i was smokin that made me so damn paranoid. It is possible i guess but has never happened to me as there should be a filter someplace to catch it in your air system. After working with any males i spray down with a mist of water very well and change clothes. And always always work with your males last so you dont need to go back around your females you dont want polinated. Until the next day. Pollen is sneaky and after years i have learned the hard way early about it.

Thanks, for the info chirim!! That sounds like a great idea, lol at the nl making you paranoid haha.. I didn't even think about it getting on your clothes so when I do decide to start breeding, I'll have some good ideas to keep my girls seperate from any pollen floating around :)

Let me ask you this, my buddie has a plant that I noticed 2 small bannanas on and cut out. Its about 5-6 weeks into flowering and I was wondering, there's only a few plants on his table and I don't think hes to worried about a seed here or there but should I be concerned about this producing more bannanas and pollenating everything?

those 'naners pop up quick I wouldn't risk it if separating is an option, I've read some horror stories of unintentional pollinations.

Thanks bro, seperating it really isn't an option right now but I'll keep a close eye out and let them know..

Looking forward to the pictures, my Kandy Kush is just over a week and its already showing some healthy bud growth.
I'm working on them right now :) I grabbed a little fox farms open sesame and beastie blooms from a friend to try it out on these girls. So now they will be getting the whole FF lineup! The only thing I'm missing is the cha ching which I will probably be picking up in the next few weeks. I just got a few samples to finish out this grow but I wanted to see the difference vs. just using the liquid trio..

Well pics will be up in a few, thanks for stopping by everyone!!

Here's the kandykush at 26 days flowering. I looked back and this should be right on! She's filling out pretty good for how many tops she has and she's soaking up nutes like a beast! I gave her first dose of open seseme along with what she's been getting, "Tiger Bloom and Big Bloom."

Here's Angry Midget, 41 days into flowering give or take a few days.. I just watered both mystery girls with there regular nutes aswell with and extra 1/4 teaspoon of beastie blooms! "The guy at the hydro store said it was the best soluble they had!" Not sure how true this is but these girls are doing so well I figured why not :)

Hey smellytrees if it has already produced a few bannanas keep an eye out for them as it has already demonstrated itu has the ability to produce them. It may or may not make more. I had 3 female white widows once and 1 did the same thing and i found them early n cut them off and all was clear for 3 weeks n then it tried again and i got them also. So it can happen. And as for pollen it will get on clothes and even arm hair. Do males last mist down n change clothes youll be fine. Nice pics by the way

Your grow is so long, it is easier to just ask. How long did you veg the KK? Yours looks great. I don't know about yours, but my KK was a slow starter. It has since passed my Blueberry Gum plant in height, but not in girth. I am doing LST on both my plants and I think KK is a great plant to LST. I am finding LST to be a challenge, but I like a challenge.

Yea I hear ya free lol.. I vegged her for around 6 weeks! I'll have to come by and give your girl a peak, my KK was kind of a slow starter but she was solo so I had nothing to compare her to. She definitely started to blow up quick when I transplanted her into the 5 gallon bucket :)
