Reserva Privada OG Kush and Barney's Farm G13 Haze

Ok a little background info, Been growing for a few years and have many succesfull grows under my belt but like everyone else I am always trying to improve and believe I can do better. I decided after a couple years of mostly reading other people's grow journals that I would finally start my own (sorry if this is a little drawn out but I have read to many posts that do not include enough information for anyone to actually know what they have going on) . To start I received my OG Kush in the mail on the 27th of May

and put 4 seeds in pre soaked rockwool cubes that night.

Also put 2 G13 Haze in.

I had 3 of 4 OG's pop out of their rockwool quickly and the fourth never did anything so I tossed it.

I have 3 OG Kush and 1 G13 Haze in a grow cabinet under a 400 watt HPS.

And put another G13 in rockwool today because of problems with G13#2. I had helped it shed its shell because it was stuck but when I did I damaged the leaf and it hasn't recovred.

I am running House and Garden nutrients with the base of Aqua Flakes A&B with all the additives per the schedule on their web page. Right now I am running about 1/3 strength. The cabinet that they are in right now is a Q6 model I believe from quickgrowcanada which I paid way too much for back in 2006.

Now I only use this cabinet for my pre veg and cloning/germinating chambers

So out of the two seeds I placed into rockwool yesterday they both have popped open and the tap root out. I replaced them back into the rockwool with the taproot facing down and covered them again to let them take hold and push themselves out.
First the G13 Haze then a bagseed from some good stuff I was told was "Hawaiin" (?) but I figure since I had an extra spot due to one of the OG not germinating I might as well.

Hey thanks goodro, I am pretty excited about finally getting some OG Kush seeds so hopefully all goes well. I was bummed though cause I tried to order a couple single seeds of the OG #18 this past weekend for the June freebies but they were sold out already so I ordered a couple more of the OG Kush so I have a few extra to hold onto.

Well they were out of pick and mix OG 18's on Saturday when I tried to order them and since I was just ordering for the June freebies promo, which only ran over the weekend, I was out of luck. But hey you never know I may end up with one of those pheno's anyways. Thanks for looking out smokinmayne.

so to you..what is the difference in the og and the og#18

Well to me the difference is that the OG#18 was picked out of 40 others as being the best for yield and having more of a fuel taste like that of the chem dog.

Well one of my three OG's is sick and I'm not sure if it's gonna make it. The rest of them are looking good and the G13 is looking good also. Changed the res out the other night when I saw the plant but it doesn't seem to be affecting the others. Right now they are in day 15 from being placed into rockwool. Well for some reason I can't upload any pictures right now, I'll try to upload the pictures later.

Ok and now for my first attempt at scrog, start of week 7 today. This is where the OG's and G13's will go eventually and I will fill in all the details about the setup then.

nice screen.. i wanted to try it on my next grow, what strain is that?

I wish I knew what strain it was, it some old school strain I was gifted about five years ago from some friends in the Portland Oregon area. I am running a test this go around with a few different strains (cleaning out my strains for the OG Kush and G-13 now) just to see how they do in scrog. As I figured, the one pictured is perfect for scrog and will be joining the OG's and G13's as I know I can get anywhere from 3.5-6 oz's from it (cant wait to see what the scrog does to it's yield).

Well I was out of town for a couple days last weekend and had some heat issues. My OG#1 went from this

and it is now gone. Oh well, I have already put another OG Kush and another G13 into rockwool, germinated and into cabinet last night. I guess I'll see if I can salvage the rest of the plants. They are doing better than the one that died so I think they will pull out of it. I have moved the cabinet and fixed my heat issues but the damage is done

Now the best part, If anyone is still following this after I killed off my plants then here are some shots of the different plants I have which are starting week eight of flowering tomorrow. Well I'll get these plants doing better, it's just gonna be a little slower than I had expected. It should be a really good 4th of July though.

I got 2 OGs right now as well as some others. I plan on making a screen this week for my current plants which are about 3 weeks older then my OGs and are about 10 inches right now. My OGs are about a week from sprout and I still plan on vegging them for about 3-4 weeks soo my other plants will have plenty of time to fill the screen. I am building a 3x2 screen and plan on fitting 3 plants under there. The only thing I am worried about is being able to water them once there in the screen. I do not want them to runoff on my floor all the time and I think it would be a little bit hard to move them to water all the time

Yeah I don't think it would be very conveniant to try and move the whole setup to water, can you elevate your whole setup and place the plants in some sort of catchtank (big rubbermaid tote or something) then they would run off into that and then you could have a drain setup or pump. Just a quick thought but without knowing much of your setup I'm just kind of shooting in the dark.

That is probably what I am going to do. I already have a tote set up with a lid that drains into it. I plan on maybe buying pvc piping and chicken wire to make the screen this week. I was thinking it might be cheaper to go with wood to create the frame.

I heard the OG stretches a lot in veg so I think it might be a good strain to scrog but am wondering about the yield from it. I havent seen many journals with the OG from Reserva Privada. Mostly only dispensaries coming from clone

I used 1"x2" wood to make my frame and legs and I believe the wire/fence/screen I bought was 2"x3" or so. I wouldn't go too small on the screen size as it gets harder to tuck things in later on. Good luck with your setup and let me know how things turn out.
