Hello all, I have been coming to rollitup off and on for years whenever I needed information so I thought I would actually post a grow journal for once and try to give some information back. I have been growing cannabis for almost 20 years and I love how I invariably learn something new with every crop. I just got some new seeds so let's pop a couple packs and see if we can find some gold. I am going to try to keep up on this journal and keep it as detailed as possible and post as many pictures as I can as much for my reference as for yours. Feel free to comment or ask questions.
First up is Reserva Privada Tangie and Rare Dankness 501st OG. I bought the seeds online from Attitude. Ever since I moved to Colorado back in 2009 people have told me that their favorite thing that they used to grow back in the day was a cut called the Tangie. I have never grown it or even smoked it but I wanted to see what all the fuss was about. It seems like the DNA/Crockett/Reserva Tangie is based on this cut so I decided to start there since I have not really seen anybody offering the original clone.
The Rare Dankness 501st OG is a Skywalker OG cross. I have been wanting to try some of the Rare Dankness stuff for a while. I have seen and smoked a bit of the Ghost Train Haze and Scott's OG around and it seems like they know what they are doing. I have the original Skywalker OG cutting and it is a great plant that crosses well with just about anything. Most recently I crossed it with a God Bud from BCBudDepot and it came out really nice. Big, fat, dense, crystally Skywalker-style nugs with a more pineapple/pina colada/fruit punch taste and smell as opposed to the lemony Skywalker taste. I was calling it Tropical Skywalker.
I used the standard damp paper towel in a ziplock bag method to germinate the seeds and after 36hours most all of them have cracked open. I had the ziplocks wrapped in a kitchen towel and sitting on top of the refrigerator but it is a little cold in my house right now so I put them in a grow tent that is about 80 degrees for 8 more hours to make sure they are all popping.
I have 13 Tangie and 12 501st OG
All the Tangie germinated
2 of the 501st OG had not cracked open yet but hopefully they are just slow and I am going to plant them anyway.
I planted them about 1/4" deep in pre-watered solo cups with a couple of holes in the bottoms for drainage using Happy Frog soil straight from the bag. I put them in this busted old tub.
And put a busted old lid on it and put it under a T5 in a tent that is about 83 degrees
