I was just changing the dwc res in the flower cab and i noticed that the headband starting her third week in flower has 2 dark grey areas in the roots. I cleaned the res, filled it with phed distilled water, rinsed the roots of because they kinda smelled bad like rotten almost. Was wondering if it was caused by the roots just sitting on top of the airstones because the grey areas were about the same size as the airstones are wide. Thats all i know to do right now any help would be greatly appreciated

Youve gotta be kidding me all these experts not a sngle one can tell me anything
Now you have done it, you showed your ass and your likely to get skipped or ignored all together now.

May I suggest you provide some pictures? What was the condition (PH, E, PPM, temp) of your res BEFORE you changed it out? In order to solicit help, you are going to need to provide these very basic pieces of data, as no one likes to fucking guess what a problem might be. Most people stake their reputation on diagnoses and won't offer one without some details and pictures.

Good luck yo you and your grow

H202 is where I would start. I forget the ratio but it sounds rotten if it stinks. You dont need alot and it will kill any bacteria without killing your plants. Theres also physan 20. Good luck and be patient around here. Oh check the temps on the air going into or coming out of the air stones. You may be providing warm air via your air pump creating a warm environment for bacteria locally at the stones.
