I think you should definitely re-soil. Go to the store and buy a bag of nice 'potting mix' (it shouldn't be more than $10) and a new pot ($2 at walmart). I would suggest doing the following: 1) Rinse out your new pot with water, dry it, and fill the very bottom with some rocks. 2) Fill the pot up with the potting mix, pour a decent amount of water into the soil. Then wait at least an hour to let the soil absorb the water and settle into position. 3) Dig a hole in the potting mix according to the size of your plant. Using a spray-bottle, spray the inside of the hole aboutt 15 times 4) Get your old plant, place your palm flat against the soil, with the very base of the stem resting in the V between your middle and ring-finger. Turn the entire pot upside down, giving it a little shake. Once it all comes out, it will probably start to fall apart. Try to knock a decent amount of the dirt off, without doing too much damage to the roots (your gonna cause a little no matter what). 5) Use the spray bottle to spray the crap out of the exposed roots (and a couple more in the hole) before you put the plant in the new pot. Fill-in all the gaps with potting mix. 6) Your probably going to have make a little support for the plant for the first week in the new pot, or else the plant will probably fall-over.
-Start this process in the very first hour of its light-cycle; this will increase the changes of the plant surviving. Hope this helps. Good Luck, and be careful!
